The Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset has tons of elements and features that make it one of today’s best. But the most notable aspect of it would be its price point. Our Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset review will discuss what makes it excellent and a favoured headset among gamers.
But before anything else, let’s take a look at its packaging and contents.
Corsair HS70 Bluetooth Gaming Headset Packaging
Our Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset review will first focus on what’s inside the box.
Corsair still opted for the yellow and black colour scheme for their packaging. And combined with excellent shots of the headset from different angles, their presentation is good as ever.
The box’s rear offers more details on the headset, yet Corsair managed to keep things neat and organised. Of course, they chose a package that’s durable and sturdy, so you can expect the headset to be well-protected.
When we opened the package, everything was set neatly and organised. Aside from the HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset, the box includes a detachable mic and foam-pop filter. There’s also a 1.8m USB-C cable, a 1.5-metre long 3.5mm jack audio cable, and the user manual.
A USB sound card is integrated within the headset. Here, you can optionally utilise it by linking the USB-C cable to your PC. If not, you can opt for the 3.5mm audio cable and connect to the motherboard or sound card.
Corsair HS70 Bluetooth Gaming Headset Review – Design and Functionality
Now, our Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset review will focus on the design and functions of the headset.
As always, Corsair opted for a design that’s premium, classy, and sophisticated. The headset appears simple and clean, and it comes with a well-made form that fits perfectly when worn.
Looking at the HS70, you’ll find a blend of metal, plastic, and chrome elements. All of these put together gives off a sharper and sleeker appeal for the gaming headset. You won’t find any RGBs on the HS70, which, in our opinion, is better for prolonged usage.
The headset’s outer headband features a subtle Corsair logo, while the inner portion is padded adequately. Corsair made the pad wider than usual to help distribute weight while providing overall comfort when worn. Also, the headband’s sides are covered with pleather.
The HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset’s height is adjustable based on how you want it. Slide the ear cups up or down the metal frame and set it accordingly. We appreciate that Corsair included clear and easy-to-see markings on each side of the headset.
A black metallic grill is set on the outer portion and centre of each ear cup. Plus, shiny black aluminium Corsair logos are fixed on them. The ear cups house the mute-mic button, volume reel, plus a couple of ports.
It’s also good to note that grill covers are present to adorn each of the ear cups. These add a nicer and more aesthetic flair than the standard plastic that’s often seen on similar headsets. Additionally, the grill covers decrease the chances of scratches appearing on the HS70.
The ear cups feature soft and comfortable leatherette coverings that match with the headband’s thick padding. These ear cups fit perfectly against the ears and feel better than the material utilised for other gaming headsets. That means you can use the Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset for prolonged gaming periods without feeling any discomfort.
For the microphone, its arm features a few metal rings. These work to make it more flexible while keeping the mic’s arm in place after adjusting it. You can protect the capsule with a pop filter that also helps make the headset appear more professional.
When utilising the provided analogue cable, note that its grey side should be linked to the headset. For the black side, it should go into a 3.5mm jack plug that’s present on your device.
Since it’s a combined 4-pole TRRS plug, it means it can work as a mic input and headphone output. You can link the HS70 to your computer’s sound card with a different headphone output and mic input. However, you’ll need to purchase a specific splitter to do this.

Hands-on with the Corsair HS70 Bluetooth Gaming Headset
Before checking how it performed, our Corsair HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset review will discuss the iCUE Software first. We’ll begin by explaining what it’s all about.
iCUE Software is Corsair’s proprietary interface where you can manage all your iCUE-compatible devices. Through the software, we were able to adjust various settings for the HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset.
We liked iCUE Software’s minimalist layout since it made things more user-friendly. It displayed all connected Corsair devices at the top section, so it was easy to switch between devices. Upon clicking on the HS70 Bluetooth gaming headset, we were able to adjust its settings.
For this headset, the primary setting for the sound is its EQ. The integrated presets can’t be modified, but this wasn’t an issue for us.
Since this was the case, we simply copied the values of the available presets. After that, we created a new profile to make customisations before saving these.
The Corsair HS70 doesn’t only have a premium look and feel to it, but it also performs excellently. Despite being a budget-friendly headset, the HS70 offers top-notch audio, which we immediately experienced when we started gaming.
We didn’t experience any over-wrought bass like what you’d often hear from budget headsets around this price range. There was still great power in both the low and mid-ranges, so everything sounded great. Plus, richness was present at every range, which is rare in products that are this inexpensive.
Its larger ear cups had some other use, aside from providing comfort when worn. It offered a more enhanced impact on the audio’s overall performance, especially when blocking lots of outside noise.
Speaking of the ear cups, their design and padding kept things comfortable even during hours of game time. We didn’t feel any pressure on our ears or on our head which made things even more enjoyable.
The microphone offered a good and clean output. There was adequate grain, excellent clarity, low noise & hum, and was excellent at cancelling noise.
