This time on our Elgato HD60 S review, it’s time to get hands-on with the HD60 S.

After you’ve installed the Elgato Game Capture software, you can plug the HD60 S to your PC or laptop. After, you can start recording and streaming via Elgato’s software or using a 3rd party program like OBS.

It was a quick process, completing the setup and ready to go in only five minutes. For the software, it was a quick and easy download, then getting it up and running was a snap.

Game Capture HD

We started using the capture card by recording a couple of videos. With just a single click via the Game Capture HD software, we captured what we needed. Streaming was equally smooth and convenient. We only required two clicks: one for streaming and the other for capturing the mic audio.

It was great since we had full control of the title of our stream. Plus, this was via the software as well.

Technically, the Elgato HD60 S worked amazingly for streaming. We didn’t experience any lags while streaming and capturing content, which makes things better.

Gameview and Low Latency

You can utilize the HD60 S while playing your games within the capture window. It may not work perfectly with the extremely fast-paced games today, but entirely, using it is adequately good.

This time, we noticed a very slight delay, but you’ll only see it when you delay and slow the video. It’s excellent for Instant Gameview features, and it is mostly because of the USB 3.0. Its presence provides improved data transfer rates, so you can play while simultaneously managing a stream via the same monitor.

When it comes to the software, we’re huge fans of it. If we had some issues with it in the past, their upgrades have solved all of these. Aside from that, they’ve also added new features which makes it better. Despite the new additions, everything still appears tidy, nothing was intimidating, and everything was just a click away.

On the software, you can easily tinker with the audio options. You can also utilize a variety of graphics for your streams and add fancy subs and animations within the software.

Overall, the Elgato HD60 S is an excellent capture card that works efficiently and seamlessly. It has a durable yet premium-looking build so you won’t have to worry about it breaking while in transit.
