We can’t deny that the AORUS FI32Q X monitor is an impressive screen. The monitor is a mix of notable resolution, refresh rate, size, DisplayHDR 600 support, etc. In this AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Review, we’ll discuss all the details about the product like features, design, specs, etc.

The monitor also supports overclocking through a single toggle on the OSD. It’s a feature that lets you enable a 270Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay.

AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Packaging

We were surprised to see our package when it arrived for our AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Review. It’s a huge box that took most of our space on the table. So better get ready if you plan to purchase this for your setup.

It sports a dark theme, with its front displaying an image of the monitor, its name, and the company’s branding. You’ll also find a few of its main features in this area.

On the sides, you’ll find more information on the monitor’s specifications, features, etc.

Often, the packaging of these products is secure, and we usually have a challenge getting things out. However, it isn’t an issue since we know Gigabyte did this to protect the monitor from unwanted damages during shipping.

Opening the box, we found tons of Styrofoam surrounding the FI32Q X, while the other inclusions are in plastic.

Aside from the monitor, Gigabyte included a multilingual installation guide, standard cables, and power cables to connect the monitor. The company even put in a very sturdy and solid monitor stand which we greatly appreciate.

AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Review – Design and Functionality

The FI32Q X doesn’t look that different from Gigabyte’s classic monitors. This product has a matte black finish except for its RGB lighting and a few accents. The three sides of its display are bezel-free, but you can still view the internal borders when the monitor isn’t in use.

While studying and observing the product for our AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Review, we noticed it isn’t intrusive like ultra-wides. However, it can still be considered a giant in the business.

The monitor requires a foot of depth once assembled entirely. Plus, it’s slightly heavy since it’s close to 15.422kg. We suggest you consider the space on your desk before purchasing the monitor.

The monitor’s build quality is impressive since the company utilised premium materials and adapted a robust design. The thick metal stand and plastic parts add to its weight. It also helps with the solid feel and durability of the FI32Q X.

The same stand is also firm. So the screen won’t easily wobble, sag, or topple over.

RGBs are at the back of the monitor and are displayed like wings to give off an aesthetic vibe. You can sync them with other AORUS and Gigabyte gadgets via the RGB Fusion 2.0.

It will allow you to create a themed setup. It doesn’t have the brightest lighting, so you can only enjoy its effects if your space is entirely dark.

The FI32Q X features an OSD joystick beneath the AORUS logo along the bottom bezel. It’s easy to access, so calibrating the monitor or choosing presets won’t be challenging. You can also utilise the company’s OSD sidekick for quicker access to the settings directly from your OS interface.

We love the FI32Q X’s metal stand since it’s solidly made, durable, and hefty to keep the monitor upright. Its design didn’t change from the previous, but the company optimised it for your convenience instead. Now, you can opt for a C-Clamp to save space.

Do note it’s still compatible with VESA, but the included clamp removes the need to spend more.

What’s notable about this monitor is its connectivity layout. It includes a DisplayPort 1.4 DSC plus two HDMI 2.1 slots for the video inputs. The latter lets you enjoy 1080, 1440p, and 4K 120Hz on next-generation consoles.

Additionally, it also has a USB-C port with DP alt mode. However, it only has 18W of charge power which isn’t adequate for laptops.

Another feature of the FI32Q X is the audio connector. It has an integrated ESS SABRE DAC for profound and cleaner audio. The monitor even has a separate jack for a mic which is ideal since the mic’s signal is isolated.

Also, you’ll find three USB 4.0 ports for accessories.

Straight out of the box the monitor looked amazing. The screen size is perfect if you want to me immersed in the games that you are playing. Its brightness was modest, so the images we saw appeared on the cooler side.

Games will appear more defined and clean than on 1080p screens. Plus, you’ll get extra screen space for multitasking.

Remember that you’ll need a decent GPU if you want to achieve 200Hz or more in computer games. That’s because rendering requirements also go up when more pixels are present.

The FI32Q X is pre-calibrated, so it’s excellent out of the box meaning that most users won’t have to tweak it.

With the FI32Q X’s wide range of features, we can see that it’s not only for gaming. The USB-C with DP Alt mode and 18W power delivery allows it to support laptops. Plus, it has a KVM switch for managing multiple devices.

We used this monitor for general work and office applications. Its IPS panel delivered an all-around performance with its wide viewing angles and stable image quality. However, its contrast ratio wasn’t as good as VA panels.

When viewing dark content, we noticed a pale glow from an angle which was more noticeable in darker room conditions. But we have no complaints in this part since it didn’t affect the monitor’s overall image quality.

The super-wide colour gamut had its benefits and disadvantages. It delivered vivid and bright colours, making it useful for gaming and HDR content.

However, providing accurate images and colours was tricky for regular uses. A possible issue is the 2560 x 1440 resolution being low for a 32” screen. That’s because this resolution has been on 27” monitors that provide crisp and sharp images for long years.

Some people may not like this resolution for larger monitors. Others may also prefer it. In our experience, it was still comfortable while viewing and didn’t ruin the image quality.

For panel uniformity, the FI32Q X had minor issues like the uneven spread of the backlight. There were slight leaks at the screen’s edges, but it wasn’t enough to produce massive clouding in the dark scenes.

Note that every user’s experience may differ depending on every unit since there are tolerances. You might get better or worse results when you purchase this monitor.

We also tested the monitor’s response time to see if it would work efficiently, especially for fast-paced gaming.

The FI32Q X natively supports a 240Hz refresh rate and can also support up to 270Hz with overclocking. You can enable this easily via the OSD menu, which also has a range of overdrive settings. Here, we made some adjustments to achieve optimal gaming performance and pixel response times.

The high refresh rates provided noticeable improvements in frame rate support and motion clarity, enhancing our overall gaming experience. Its VRR feature helped the monitor support various performance and refresh rates.

While gaming, we noticed the excellent pixel response time of the monitor. It barely showed blurring at any refresh preset. Although the overdrive settings were present, we didn’t see the need to use them.

The FI32Q X’s response time is ideal for competitive gamers, even those who use consoles with only 120Hz capability.

We were very satisfied with the monitor’s overall performance during our tests for this AORUS FI32Q X Monitor Review. The monitor delivered excellent image quality and response time. It’s great for gaming, content creation, and various media applications.
