There are mice optimised for gamers who maximise every millisecond during gameplay. If you are searching for one, our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review will give you the best option.

Today, we will look into the Haste 2, a mouse from HyperX built to provide solid, quality gaming performance. It sports a powerful sensor and integrates features that made its predecessor a favourite among eSports gamers.

The mouse is pricier than usual, but the Haste 2 optimises almost every best quality its predecessor has. These elements make it the best for eSports gaming.

Continue reading our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review to learn everything you need about the product. We will look at its design, functions, features, specs, and performance. But first, let us unbox the Haste 2 and check what HyperX included for us.

HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Packaging

Our package arrived in a standard-looking box with the product name and company branding on the front. An image of the Pulsefire Haste 2 is also present here. And since we have the white version for this review, the colour of the mouse displayed is white.

Aside from the mouse, you will only find a few items inside the package. The only items shipped with the Haste 2 are HyperX grips, a quick start guide, and low-friction skates.

HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review – Design and Functionality

We will look at the build and functions of the mouse for our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review.

The company left the shape and form of its predecessor. You will get a product with a medium-sized bump at the centre, two blade-like primary and two thin side buttons.

The Haste 2 adopts a palm style that allows your hand to grip comfortably. It is perfect for medium-sized hands, so if yours are massive, it is better to choose a claw-style grip.

On its design, the Haste 2 sports a minimalistic aesthetic, so nothing is exciting here. You will also not find hot-swappable weights, a see-through shell, or a honeycomb design on the mouse. Instead, you will receive a basic-looking gaming mouse you can customise slightly with the gripping tapes included in the package.

You can install these on the sides of the mouse or its buttons.

The Haste 2 focuses on its sensor and performance, so we have no complaints about it. Generally, an efficient and quality-performing mouse is better than something with bling just for aesthetics.

HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Cable and Mouse Feet

The cable of this mouse is lightweight and braided for added protection. It has a higher polling rate, but fortunately, the mouse cable is lighter. It is also thinner and more flexible while still maintaining a tight weave.

During our tests for this HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review, we did not experience its cord dragging below the desk. This aspect is a big plus for the wired mouse from HyperX, and we greatly appreciate it.

As for the design, it remains unchanged with its four pill-shaped feet. However, the Haste 2 now incorporates pure-grade PTFEs, ensuring a smooth and consistent glide.

The edges of the mouse feet are chamfered and polished for a smooth finish. So, there were no issues with them cutting into our mousepad.

Buttons and Scroll Wheel

Since the mouse is for right-handed users, it features two buttons on the left side, allowing your thumb to rest. There are also two buttons for left/right clicks, plus a clickable rubbery scroll wheel. Additionally, its body features a DPI switcher for swapping between four DPI settings by default.

Key Features of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2

What makes the Haste 2 a good mouse for gaming? Is it better than its predecessor, the original Haste mouse? We will discuss each of its primary features to find out.

More Wins with Better Mouse Movement

The Haste 2 allows you to game at the speed of light with its solid shell and lightweight design. HyperX designed this mouse for quicker movements for a better gaming experience and to feel less fatigue.

Superior Precision with the HyperX 26K Sensor

The HyperX 26K sensor can natively offer up to 26000 DPI and track speeds up to 650 IPS. This level of precision allows you to execute actions better.

Lag-free with the 8000Hz Polling Rate of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2

The Haste 2 reports mouse clicks up to eight times per millisecond. In addition, it detects signals every 0.125 milliseconds and delivers lag-free performance, so you will always win one-on-one battles.

HyperFlex 2 Cable for Reduced Cable Resistance

HyperX made the ultra-flexible HyperFlex 2 cable using paracord material. As a result, it offers smooth and free-flowing mouse movement while preventing cable snags.

HyperX Switches – Durable and Satisfying Clicks

When we checked the product for our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review, we immediately noticed its buttons. They provide tactile clicks and audible feedback, which makes these buttons satisfying.

The HyperX switches can also withstand up to 100 million clicks, making them highly durable for intense gaming sessions.

Smooth and Effortless Gliding with Low-friction Skates

The smooth, low-friction skates combined with the lightweight body of the Haste 2 make mouse movement smooth and seamless. As a result, you can perform better in games.

Customise Your Grip with the Included Grip Tape

HyperX included four pieces of custom no-slip HyperX Grip tapes in the packaging. These are for the left and right buttons and sides of the Haste 2.

Hands-on with the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2

Before we discuss our hands-on review with the mouse, our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review will check its NGenuity Software. It helps customise your Haste 2, and much like its predecessor, you can adjust its DPI presets or add your own. You can even remove the presets to suit your preferred gaming style.

Additionally, the software will allow you to manage polling rates and add  RGB effects for a personalised flair.

The Haste 2 does not feature onboard storage for multiple profiles. Instead, you are limited to its single default profile when bringing the mouse around.

However, the NGenuity Software lets you make and save your settings in numerous profiles.

Also, the software lets you create/save settings in multiple profiles. That means you can export these to your USB drive, so the lack of onboard storage will not be inconvenient.

Using the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2

Our HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review will discuss our hands-on experience with this gaming mouse. We used Haste 2 for about two weeks to see how well it would perform and if it was worth the purchase.

The first thing we noticed while using the Haste 2 was its comfort. It also had a similar shape and weight to other gaming mice we previously used, which made adapting easy.

Aside from comfort, Haste 2 delivered excellent performance. Its HyperX 26K sensor makes it a top-tier mouse with no smoothing or prediction. Nevertheless, it kept up with our erratic movements when we played different FPS titles and remained smooth and accurate.

We used the Pulsefire Haste 2 on a polished wooden table and a mousepad. To our surprise, it worked excellently on both surfaces. We were also impressed with its 8000Hz polling rate since it felt highly responsive regardless of the game we played.

The main buttons of the HyperX switches have a 100 million-click cycle with satisfying tactile feedback. Despite the silent clicks of the side buttons, these have a tactile bump that makes it easy to press and identify them.

The scroll wheel has padding and a thin rubber coating layer that keeps it smooth and silent. Plus, it has pronounced steps, which are excellent for those relying on the scroll wheel when managing in-game inventory.

HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review Summary

The Haste 2 is an excellent update from its predecessor. HyperX implemented all the necessary features to meet the expectations of tech gamers in 2023.

During our tests for this HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Review, we enjoyed our improved gaming experience. Its sensor, lightweight body, and smooth gliders helped us execute actions precisely.

Although its predecessor already had award-winning features, the new features of the Haste 2 make it continue its legacy. Plus, the larger size of this new mouse makes it comfortable to hold, while its lightweight body allows for better movement.

The Pulsefire Haste 2 does not have the fancy features that most gaming mice have. But despite that, it is an ideal product that gives the competitive edge that gamers need. It is easy to recommend to anyone who wants a high-quality gaming mouse since it offers excellent value for money.
