Mice from Logitech are known for efficiency, ergonomics, and their productivity-based features. And today in our Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse review, we’ll discuss the vital stuff about their MX Master 3.
This mouse is a follow-up to the company’s popular MX Master 2S which sports a similar design and feature set. Logitech utilised USB-C charging and kept the quick-charge technology from the MX Master 2S.
The MX Master 3 sports the company’s signature features but it really looks just like the previous generation mice. Does it offer enough or more to approve its higher price tag? We’ll find out here in our Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse review.
Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse Packaging
The MX Master 3 arrived in a premium-looking cardboard container that features an image of the mouse in front. MX Master 3 is seen on the upper-left corner while Logitech is just below the image. We love the dark theme Logitech used for the product since it gives off that sleek vibe to it.
Of course, we looked inside the package for our Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse review. There, we saw that the mouse came with a couple of accessories such as a unifying USB receiver. You’ll also find a USB-C charging cable (USB-A to C) and user documentation for reference.
Everything inside was secure and well-packed, so you don’t need to worry about accidental damages on the MX Master 3.
Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse Review – Design and Functionality
The MX Master 3 is an ergonomic mouse for right-handed users. It has a functional design and curves that are ideal for your hand’s grip and shape. The area for your thumb and nook for your thumb both feature slip-resistant and textured surfaces which is great.
This mouse has seven buttons present. On the top, you’ll see a clickable scroll wheel and button for adjusting the scroll settings.
The company has slightly altered the technology in the scroll wheel and opted for a magnetic mechanism called the MagSpeed. It facilitates the ratchet scrolling effect.
We looked into other details for our Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse review. And to note, earlier generations had the same effect when utilising mechanical contacts.
The new technology keeps fixed scrolling very solid and defined while simultaneously making it easy to scroll lines quickly. This is evident especially when changing to the free-scrolling mode.
The MX Master 3 has a thumb scroll wheel and two customisable buttons on the side. There’s even an extra button when you press on the thumb pad.
Its USB-C charging port is in front of the mouse, while at the base, you’ll see another button. The latter is present for manually switching among the different available device profiles.
The mouse’s scroll wheel is Logitech’s current development since their MX Master 2S. It allows you to toggle between smooth or ratchet scrolling.
You can link the mouse to up to three different devices. And with the help of a button on its base, you can easily switch among different profiles. This button also helps you determine which device is currently in use.
If you’re installing Logitech Options on your computer, you can easily switch between them with ease.
Compared to earlier Logitech mice, the MX Master 3 doesn’t have a place for keeping the USB dongle. So, there might be a higher chance of misplacing or losing its little adapter.

Hands-on with the Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse
We tried using the MX Master 3 to see how well it performs. Of course, we also used the Logitech Options app to see what customisation options it offers.
This section of our Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse review will discuss the performance of the mouse. But before we get into that, let’s check out its app for customising the mouse’s pointer sensitivity. Aside from its pointer sensitivity, the Logitech Options app also customises its gesture shortcuts, Smart Shift sensitivity, and more.
The app allows you to assign actions to all the available buttons except for the right and left ones. Instead, these are made app-specific.
Logitech Options also has an extensive list of programs that it supports. This only means that it isn’t only the creative pros who can take advantage of it. However, Lightroom isn’t included in the list.
But with programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook, Chrome, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams being supported, things get even better. Why? Because everyone can benefit and get a lot out of the MX Master 3.
When we used the MX Master 3, we noticed the cursor’s precision and accuracy. It was also comfortable to use for long periods and it worked smoothly on any surface. In fact, we didn’t need a mouse pad or a smooth surface for the mouse to function well.
Its Bluetooth connectivity was also seamless even when connected to three devices. This was an issue with its predecessor, so we’re glad that Logitech fixed this issue for the MX Master 3.
For the older model, we had to disconnect one of the linked devices or reset the mouse. The MX Master 3, on the other hand, worked smoothly out of the box.
Overall, we were satisfied with the Logitech MX Master 3’s performance. We enjoyed customising its shortcuts and using its unique features. With that, we’re recommending this product.
