The Blackshark V2 Pro features every aspect of the standard V2 with its wireless capabilities. It also weighs 320g, making it 58g heavier than its predecessor, but the increased weight isn’t noticeable.
The headset’s build is mainly plastic, but don’t consider it a downgrade from a metal construction. Why? Because no portion of the product feels cheap, flimsy, or brittle.
Interestingly, the headset’s most seemingly fragile part is one of its few metal sections. It’s the slim wire forks that link the earcups to the headband.
The forks work as the earcups’ suspension point and height adjustment, and each side fit in a plastic tube for the headset’s band extension. The good news is once you’ve set it, the friction-based adjustments stay in place while providing room for your head.
Additionally, wearing the headset will feel great because of its solid adjustable frames. Generally, moving around with the Blackshark V2 Pro won’t need any adjustments since it stays fixed on your head.
Enhancing the comfort of this headset is the company’s proprietary Flowknit material and memory foam on the headband and earcups. The combination of form-fitting pads and breathable material provides the most comfortable headset to wear.
You won’t develop any unnecessary heat build-up common in leather earcups nor irritating friction from other types of rougher pads. It’s good the earcups still offer solid passive noise isolation, thanks to the headset’s closed-back earcups and dense foam.
It may not match the seal provided by leather/leatherette coverings. However, the slight additional sound leak is worth the comfort and extra airflow from the Flowknit fabric.

Setting up the headset was easy. Once you plug the 2.4GHz USB dongle, hold the power button and wait until the product connects.
Using the headset is great for music listening. However, the overall audio experience wasn’t that notable. Highlights such as the crystal-clear vocals and instrument separation became neutralised by overly sharp trebles and flimsy bass reproductions.
We were able to fix a bit of it via Synapse’s integrated equaliser settings, while the “Music” preset slightly enhanced the headset’s performance in most music genres. It was good that tweaking one slider at a time somehow produced better results during our tests.
Although we mentioned a couple of flaws and weaknesses, the Blackshark V2 Pro performed excellently for gaming. The same ultra-sharp treble made enemy footsteps prominent above the muted bass of explosions nearby.
It becomes more useful via the directional sound production feature of the headset. It helps determine the source of any in-game audio vertically and horizontally.
