Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed Review – Design and Functionality
Razer used a stemmed style for the Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed, resembling the Apple AirPods. However, it does appear old-fashioned nowadays since other brands go for the compact and stemless design.
Despite lacking in the aesthetics department, the earbuds make up for it in comfort. We can confirm these claims after wearing and testing it for our Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed Review.
Of course, this is subjective based on the shape of your ears. But we tried wearing it, and the earbuds were comfortable even for long hours.
We also appreciate the three earbud tip sizes from the company, allowing you to choose between S, M, and L. These earbuds also support Chroma RGB lighting with LEDs behind the Razer logo.
Its 2.4GHz HyperSpeed adapter connects the product over wireless instead of Bluetooth 5.3. It features a USB-C connection, but it also comes with a USB-A adapter for convenience.

Hands-on with the Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed
We tested and used the earbuds for almost two weeks for this Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed Review. The first time we slipped the earbuds, it felt light and comfy, as if they were customised for our ears. Interestingly, it did not give us any discomfort despite its design, so wearing it for hours was possible.
Setting up the earbuds was convenient and straightforward. If you connect through Bluetooth, here is how to enable it on your source device.
- First, open the lid of its charging case
- Then, choose Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed from the available options
However, if you plan to use the USB dongle, here is what you need to do:
- Link the dongle to the USB-C port of your source device
- Open the lid of the charging case before triple-tapping on the earbuds
- Once you do, pairing will automatically happen
Razer Audio App
Most of its features are organised and managed through the Audio App from Razer. However, features like Gaming Mode and ANC respond to quick two or three taps on the earbuds. Its interface focuses on remapping these controls to access your favourites.
The audio in 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes have distinct differences. When connected via Bluetooth, the Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed delivers richer sound. Pairing via 2.4GHz brings the optimal speed with zero latency and slightly reduces bitrate.
Connecting via Bluetooth delivered accurate trebles and richer bass better than 2.4GHz mode. Fortunately, you will have the best of two worlds, so when listening to music, Bluetooth connectivity is best. For games, the adapter will provide the best gameplay audio performance.
The game audio was rich in detail and clarity. We played multiple titles for our tests, and the turned-up bass resulted in a distinct mid-range. Also, the lows, mids, and highs had excellent spatial separation.
The gaming experience with the earbuds showcased a remarkable blend of robust highs and lows. It particularly shone during gameplay sessions with captivating music tracks.
We enjoyed the well-defined distinction between the mids and highs while immersed in music. It created a spacious and uncluttered listening environment.
The bass, while not overwhelming, possessed a pleasing depth to it. The earbuds exuded a potent and voluminous quality that consistently did justice to our favourite tunes.
The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed achieved an impressive sense of depth and separation. So, it compelled us to tap our fingers in sync with the rhythmic beats.
Active Noise Cancellation
The Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed features ANC in three modes: ANC On, Ambient Mode, and ANC Off.
ANC On instantly filtered away low, repetitive noise like an air conditioner and electric fan buzzing. However, it did not cancel high-pitched sounds, and irregular frequencies went through. Although its ANC did not perfectly filter the audio, it kept most noise out. With Ambient Mode activated, the earbuds delivered balanced audio with clarity. This feature is excellent in situations when someone chars with you while gaming.
Microphone Performance
Like all wireless earbuds, the Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed features a fixed mic. Although it had no option to mute the mic of the earbuds, this option was available via the Razer Audio App. The only available tap controls are for receiving calls and adjusting the volume.
The audio quality from the mic was excellent, especially for earbuds. People communicating on the other line will not have trouble hearing you speak.
While its audio is slightly muffled, it preserved some depth and bass while avoiding the tinny/metallic qualities usually present on cheap mics.
Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed Review Summary
The Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed is a highly reliable pair of earbuds from Razer. It delivers excellent audio quality for calls, music, and gaming while offering fast and stable wireless connectivity. Plus, its microphone works well and provides adequate clarity for communication.
