Out of the box, the Seiren Emote microphone has the form of the Razer Seiren X. Generally, the Seiren line already established a notable reputation as a mic. Compared to other brands that offer streaming microphones, Seiren sports a smaller footprint with a more straightforward design.

On the side, you’ll only find a mute & gain button since there aren’t any additional functions on the mic. This device links to a computer via micro USB at the base of the mic. It connects to a USB Type-A on the computer and also sports a 3.5mm output at the bottom.

While the Seiren Emote has a similar exterior to Razer’s last microphone, there’s still a noticeable difference between them. The difference between them is their interactive display. You can utilize a ton of pre-programmed emoticons and show them while streaming with the Seiren Emote.

You can even plug it into your computer to allow setting up custom emoticons based on your stream’s themes. It’s a cool device when it comes to personalizing and customizing its looks for when you broadcast.  Each emoticon can link with a feature on your stream such as setting up for cheers, donations, subscribers and more.

Next on our Razer Seiren Emote review, we’ll focus more on this microphone’s essential features.

Key Features of the Razer Seiren Emote

This portion of our Razer Seiren Emote review focuses on the key features of the microphone from Razer.

Interact with Emoticons

The Streamer Connection application allows for a new way to interact with your audience. During different parts of your stream, you can make use of the emoticons trigger on your Razer Seiren Emote. Decide which emoticons will appear for new followers, subs, chat keywords, and donations.

8-Bit Emoticon LED Display

The Emote Engine-powered 8-bit emoticon LED display of the microphone comes with a vast collection of static and animated emoticons. This feature makes the Razer Seiren Emote a unique product compared to other USB-powered broadcast mics.

Hypercardioid Condenser Microphone

The Razer Seiren Emote is a USB microphone that records clear and broadcast-quality audio. It uses a hypercardioid pickup pattern and has adequate focus and sensitivity to capture your voice and its nuances. It records the slightest shift in tone while eliminating background noise that lowers the audio quality of your stream.

Integrated Shock Mount

When things get exciting, you may accidentally bump or knock your mic. With the Razer Seiren Emote, you don’t have to worry about this since it has built-in shock mounts. These reduce vibrations to keep your stream’s sound quality smooth and uninterrupted.

Plug and Play

This microphone works right out of the box, so you don’t have to tinker with complicated settings. Once you plug it, your computer will recognize this, and you can start using the mic.

Interchangeable Gooseneck

The Razer Seiren Emote has a flexible microphone extender that allows you to increase its height.

Hands-On with the Razer Seiren Emote

The microphone, while it does look great, also does an excellent job performance-wise. There were no issues with tracking voices across several  surfaces. It was even able to drown out unnecessary noises with ease. Note that it runs with the same technology as the Seiren X, so you inevitably get quality for your money.

It’s a sturdy product since its shock mounts hold the mic in place. Plus, you can adjust the Seiren to lean in or stay firmly in place while on the stand.

If you aren’t a streamer, it still provides value to your tasks and needs. It produces audio of top-notch quality, and that also goes for recording. It’s quite pricey, and if you won’t utilize its features, you’re better off with a different Seiren model. However, if you want to show off during your live streams, this is the best thing to get.

The Razer Seiren Emote has an excellent display for emotes, and its quality is excellent. We used it without problems, and everything we did with it went smoothly. With that, it gets five stars from us, and we’d recommend it.

Streamer Companion App

The Streamer Companion app is where you can tweak various settings for your Razer Seiren Emote microphone. After linking your Streamlabs or Twitch account, you can enable multiple interaction alerts. Razer mentioned that the company would include more platforms later.

Once you link your accounts, proceed to the alerts tab to create interactive alerts based on your viewers’ actions. The software app gives you control to enable or disable each setting.

When it comes to events such as cheers, this comes in any quantity. You can assign tier levels to meet your stream. If you get cheers frequently, you can set a minimum amount for the cheers alert. This feature limits the displayed interaction on your stream, so you don’t get continuously disrupted.

For the emoticons, you can select your preferred graphic from the emote dropdown. You’ll gain access to over a hundred built-in emoticons, or you can create yours via the Editor tab. Select pixels from the 8 x 8 display then colour them with any shade you want. Importing GIF into the app is also possible.

After this, you will set the duration for the emoticon, then test it to ensure that it functions correctly. For additional display effects, you can connect more devices such as Philips Hue lights. Once alerts are done, and connections to platforms finish, you can go back to the dashboard to test everything.
