Here’s our list of the ten scary movies to watch this Halloween.

The Exorcist

Since you’re planning to stream Halloween movies this coming spook season, why not go for a real scare?

Almost four decades after its release, The Exorcist is still one of the creepiest and mind-boggling films ever made.

In the film, Regan MacNeil is an innocent twelve-year-old girl who gets possessed by some demonic force. The Oscar-nominated film from William Friedkin was basically the first prestigious horror film.

It featured excellent performances, game-changing scares, and intense thematic material.

The actual exorcism in the film is the creepiest core of The Exorcist, but that’s not the freakiest part.

Its behind-the-scenes history is entirely bone-chilling!

Orphan

A nine-year-old Russian girl is adopted by an American couple portrayed by Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga.

At some point, the child Esther starts acting out dangerously by bullying her new brother and the children at school. She also attempts to seduce her adoptive father and even murders a nun.

It doesn’t take long for the couple to realise that maybe this girl is not all she seems.

Nosferatu

Even if Nosferatu is nearly 100 years old, it’s a story that continues to deliver the goods. Yes, old scary films such as this tend to look campy today. However, Nosferatu’s gloomy photography, creepy mug, and his timely note about xenophobia hold up to this day.

Pet Sematary

If you’re looking to stream Halloween movies this coming Halloween, why not go for one of Stephen King’s books turned into movies?

The Pet Sematary is part of our list of 10 scary movies to watch this Halloween. Why this? Well, there are not enough films about the walking dead that started because of the resurrection of one family’s beloved kitty.

Panic Room

The Panic Room is a dangerously frightening home invasion film. It’s devoid of the supernatural and ghouls, making it a top choice for a good scare. You might have some people with you who’ll be triple-checking their locks after the film’s done.

The Conjuring

The Conjuring is a spine-chilling movie based on a true story about two paranormal investigators. The two visit a little farmhouse. They help a family being haunted by a 19th-century witch who’s serious about keeping anyone off the property.

It links with some other horror films that are considered some of the best Halloween films as well.

Rosemary’s Baby

Rosemary’s Baby is another good film if you plan to stream Halloween movies for the season. This is a film produced in the year 1968, and it’s an excellent slow burn.

You won’t experience any jump scares in this movie. However, you’ll get creeped out by Rosemary’s paranoia as you get deeper into the film.

The Witch

The Witch features a 1630s family torn by disappearances, witchcraft, evil possessions, and paranoia. It’s one of those rare films that doesn’t necessarily jump out of the seat type of scary. The Witch is deeply disturbing and will creep you out for an hour & thirty minutes.

Nightmare on Elm Street

A Wes Craven film that continues to scare despite being a film from the 80s. It’s a tale of Freddy Krueger, a serial killer who wears a knifed glove and kills people in their dreams.

Watch this if you don’t want to have sweet dreams ever again.

Hereditary

If you plan to stream Halloween movies with your friends, this is another great film to see.

Hereditary is a horrifying film about family secrets and grief. The movie is a psychological study as it is a scary scream fest.

Toni Collette stars as a mother who’s desperately trying to keep her family whole in the face of evil.
