For our TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD Review, we have the 2TB version of this SSD. It ships in a standard cardboard box with a white and blue theme.

The front of the package features an image of the product, its name, and its capacity. You will also find basic features shown in this area of the package.

You will not find much inside the box since TEAMGROUP kept things to a minimum. The MP44 SSD is secure in a sturdy plastic tray to keep it in place during transit.

TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD Review – Design and Functionality

As mentioned, we have the 2TB version for this TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD Review. However, you can also choose from varying capacities, such as 512GB, 1TB, 4TB, and 8TB.

The MP44 has a massive range, more than other SSDs like the Lexar NM790. Generally, it has plenty of storage for a four-channel controller, making its performance adequate.

This SSD features a graphene label to further assist in cooling. Other than that, we think it is an unremarkable design for the product.

Under its label, you will find a Maxio MAP1602 SSD controller and four NAND packages. The latter is 512GB each of the 232-layer TLC (YMTC).

Today, the NAND packages are the fastest solution without a DRAM that is present on the market. Plus, it performs better when paired with the MP44. Its capacity bonus is because of the denser TLC flash, which will be a common element as time passes.

Key Features of the TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD

Massive Space for Data Storage

The MP44 that we have offers 2TB of capacity, which is adequate for image files, documents, videos, games, and more. You will not have to worry about lacking space with this SSD.

Excellent Heat Dissipating Graphene Label

While writing this TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD Review, we realised its graphene label is an excellent optimisation for motherboard heat sinks. This SSD adopts the exclusive patented heat-dissipated graphene label from TEAMGROUP.

Since it measures less than 1mm of an M.2 2280, the product prevents instances of mechanical interference during assembly. Also, its heat-dissipating performance is superior to a heat sink when paired with the onboard M.2 heat sink. You can consider it an excellent upgrade to a native heatsink.

PCIe Gen4 Ultra-speed

The product has a performance rate that exceeds 7,000MB/s since it adopts a PCIe Gen 4×4 interface. It offers read/write speeds that reach up to 7400/7000MB/s to ensure a seamless user experience.

Monitoring SSD Patent of the TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD

SMART is the exclusive patented SSD-monitoring software from TEAMGROUP. It monitors the product’s health and status, as well as its quality and performance. You can do this via a fast and convenient setting with a thorough inspection.

Recyclable Packaging for Environmental Sustainability

  • RoHS

Hands-on with the TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD

We tested this product to share our experience in this TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD Review. We tried it for two weeks to see how it fares under heavy load.

This software is accessible from the TEAMGROUP official website and has standard functionality for convenience. These include your system and storage drive information, plus a regular performance test.

CrystalDiskInfo and CrystalDiskMark provide you with the same features as the MP44. However, cloning, imaging, and backups will require separate software.

After downloading SMART from the TEAMGROUP website, the first page displays the disk drive information. These include the used number of hours and the total power-on count.

You will also find the drive’s serial number and firmware. This page also displays the Host Page, LBA read/write, and the interface standard.

Moving to the second page of the UI displays the system information for your reference. By default, it masks vital data related to the system by default. It is a helpful addition since it allows you to unhide information.

Remember that its performance page features two tests measuring the MP44 performance, including random and sequential 4K.

The MP44 can reach up to 650K / 660K random read and write and up to 7,400 / 6,900 MB/s for sequential reads and writes IOPS. The random performance is lower on paper than its competition, but you should not take it seriously.

The MP44 is a notable product that is also excellent for money. We appreciate its upload and download speeds since we did not experience any issues with it.

We copied the 200GB file to the SSD and saw speeds of 2400MB/s.

The MP44 is excellent for gaming. It delivered fast loading times for its price, making it highly impressive. This product is fast, reliable, and one of the most affordable options for a 2TB NVMe SSD.

The MP44 is ideal if you want lightning-quick data access. It is a seamless storage solution for your PS5, and its 2500 TBW longevity makes it better.

Thermal Results of the TEAMGROUP MP44 SSD

Aside from performance, the MP44 impressed us with its temperatures during our tests. It did not require additional cooling, but note that results may vary depending on ambient temperature and chassis ventilation.

When we did our tests, its temperature idled at 43 degrees Celsius. It hit 74 degrees under load, with ambient temperatures ranging from 35 to 37 degrees. We tested it several times, and the SSD temperature only reached 63 degrees.
