Today we are coing to take a look at the Creality CR-Scan Raptor, a 3D scanner equipped with cutting-edge technology for exceptional quality scanning.

The CR-Scan Raptor can accurately and effortlessly capture objects of any size, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

No matter the application, the CR-Scan Raptor stands out as a versatile and powerful tool when it comes to 3D printing, providing hish resolution scans for easier and more detailed 3D printing.

In this review, we’ll explore the lightweight and ergonomic design of the scanner, its user-friendly controls, and its ability to handle various scanning tasks with precision and clarity.

Creality CR-Scan Raptor Review – Design and Functionality

The CR-Scan Raptor weighs just 372g, making it perfect for single-handed operation. You can scan objects for extended periods without feeling fatigued.

In addition to its lightweight design, the scanner features an anti-slip surface and a detachable cord for enhanced safety. Its versatility makes it suitable for mould-making, metrological testing, medical technology, reverse engineering, 3D printing, etc.

This scanner has Intuitive buttons for convenient operation. It also includes a light to indicate the scanning status and a glass substrate calibration plate for precise capturing.

Detecting Differently-sized Objects

The scanner can effortlessly capture nearly any object, including metal items, faces, human bodies, and cars. It uses blue line lasers and structured infrared light to scan objects in 5mm³ to 2000 mm³ scanning range.

Scans Accurately With Structured Infrared Light

This product integrates 3D imaging with speckle matching. As a result, this scanner doesn’t require markers to capture objects and data quickly. It performs flawlessly, even on items with intricate or complex designs.

Hybrid Laser and NIR for Unparalleled Clarity and Sharpness

The laser scanning with NIR offers crisp, sharp scans of objects with intricate details.

These two technologies ensure exceptional dimensional accuracy, reducing the risk of losing track or slipping during scanning.

The NIR is unique since it uses colour and texture as references for tracking and alignment. As a result, it can scan without needing dot markers.

The NIR is a notable part of the product, which we want to highlight in this Creality CR-Scan Raptor Review. This technology lets you scan larger objects in a single frame capture area, allowing you to track humans and furniture. Although this scanning mode is less sharp and has lower dimensional accuracy, it offers more flexibility.

Note that laser scanning mode consumes RAM on your computer, which can limit the size of objects you can scan.

Smooth Scan + Anti-Shaking

The company uses One-Shot 3D imaging technology to stabilise the scanner effectively. It stops shaking, which causes tracking loss. Additionally, it offers backtracking speeds for seamless handheld scans.

Glass Lens With Nine Elements

The CR-Scan Raptor consists of a nine-element glass lens with a metal lens barrel and mount. This feature allowed us to capture high-quality scans when we tested the product for our Creality CR-Scan Raptor Review.

It provides excellent stability when scanning at different distances and temperatures. Additionally, the lens ensures precise measurements regardless of the scanning environment.

24-bit Full-Colour Scanning

This scanner features 12 circular LED texture lights, enhancing colour mapping brightness in low-light conditions. It allows the CR-Scan Raptor to reproduce the colour of the scanned object accurately.

The CR-Scan Raptor directly plots a full 24-bit colour. After scanning, you can export the file to various formats (OBJ, PLY, or STL) for 3D printing.

Blue + White Lights

The scanner features LED texture lighting that integrates a circular arrangement. We appreciated its life-like scans when we tried it for our Creality CR-Scan Raptor Review.

In addition to its circular layout, the scanner combines blue and white lighting. Blue light provides extra illumination for scanning laser lines, while white light enhances colour texture and brightness.
