Roborock has taken the plunge into a brand new product category at IFA 2026, unveiling the Roborock RockAqua P1, its first smart robotic pool cleaner. The company, which describes itself as the global leader in home robotics and cites Euromonitor International data placing it as the world’s top-selling robotic vacuum cleaner brand by retail value in 2025, says the launch extends its “Rocking Life With You” philosophy from the living room floor to the swimming pool. Roborock also points to IDC figures ranking it first globally by unit shipments and sales value among robotic vacuum brands in the first half of 2026, and frames the RockAqua P1 as another step in solving everyday problems, this time for pool owners who would rather swim than scrub tiles.

Roborock RockAqua P1: made for every pool, from floor to waterline

Designed for pools with different shapes, depths and designs, the Roborock RockAqua P1 is making a splash at IFA 2026 in Berlin. It is the first robotic pool cleaner in the new RockAqua series, built to clean the pool floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms alike.

By combining powerful cleaning with smart navigation and easy retrieval, the RockAqua P1 is designed to take the effort out of pool maintenance and hand owners back more time to actually enjoy their pool. Roborock notes that pool shapes are rarely as simple as a rectangle, and that different floor layouts, obstacles or steps pose a real challenge for many robotic pool cleaners currently on the market.

The RockAqua P1 is built to adapt to those conditions, providing coverage across the pool floor, walls, waterline and platforms as shallow as 15cm. Its adaptive cleaning path helps the robot navigate different pool shapes, while vision-based obstacle avoidance identifies things like drain covers and steps to cut down on interruptions during a clean, which in turn means less time spent double-checking where the robot has already been.

Powerful cleaning for a spotless pool

The Roborock RockAqua P1 is built to collect everything from fine debris and sand through to larger leaves without needing constant emptying. It manages this with 6,800 GPH (25,738 LPH) of suction power, paired with a 4-litre debris basket and dual filtration using 180-micron and 70-micron filters.

The robot can also adjust its suction depending on what it encounters. When it comes across larger debris, suction is reduced so the water flow does not scatter it, before increasing again as the robot approaches the dirt. Roborock’s ClearVision Smart Patrol Cleaning system can further prioritise dirtier sections of the pool, which the company says reduces missed spots and unnecessary repeat cleaning.

Runtime is rated at up to 3.5 hours of effective floor cleaning, which Roborock says is enough to cover larger pools without frequent interruptions. A fast recharge gets the robot ready for its next cycle, while intelligent motor adjustment helps it adapt energy use to pool conditions and the amount of debris present at the time.

Easy to retrieve and easy to control

Once a cleaning cycle is complete, or the battery drops below a critical level, the RockAqua P1 automatically returns to the waterline and waits there to be collected, rather than sitting out of reach at the bottom of the pool. A quick water release feature helps drain water from the robot as it is lifted out, cutting down on the effort needed to carry it from the pool to its charging dock.
