Let us discuss the performance of the Logitech G mobile app in our ASTRO A30 Wireless PS5 Gaming Headset Review. Generally, the A30 does not have dedicated software for a PC; however, smartphones can use the Logitech G app.
The software lets you conveniently adjust the sidetone, mix chat and game audio, and the EQ settings. With it, you can also update your firmware whenever necessary. Additionally, you can select between media and game profiles to save for different preferences and uses.
It would be better if it worked with the Logitech G Hub desktop app. But we appreciate that it has a mobile app that runs efficiently.

This feature helps address minor issues related to the default audio performance. For instance, it enabled us to mitigate the excessive high-end emphasis that causes sibilance in the default setting.

The headset adeptly balances these audio streams, providing a seamless and harmonious experience. We may not frequently utilise such a feature. However, its scarcity among gaming headsets gives the A30 a distinctive advantage.
Audio Quality of the ASTRO A30 Wireless PS5 Gaming Headset
The A30 did not need extra frills to deliver high-quality audio. It also did not need assistance since its sub-bass extension, mids, and high-end were satisfying.
The headset did not have many rumbles when we listened to music, even with bass-heavy tunes. As for the high end, the headset made it more pronounced, resulting in minimal sibilance in some tracks.
The soundstage of the A30 felt like there was distance between the listener and the music. Although it was not bad, it resembled the sound of listening to performers from the audience.
Gaming Audio
Gaming with the A30 was a different experience compared to listening to music. The enhanced high-end in this headset made gaming audio more detailed, while the boosted low-mids increased its fullness.
The distant soundstage was an excellent characteristic of this headset when gaming. It made the video games more realistic and immersive, resulting in a more enjoyable experience.
The slightly emphasised bass was perfect for games, especially shooters. With enhanced highs, hearing door squeaks and footsteps was easier. We also loved the stereo separation that allowed us to determine the origin of sounds, even without spatial sound features.
The A30 made environmental sounds more audible while keeping the background music well-balanced. It had no issues like overbearing frequencies, which we highly appreciate.
Passive Isolation
The A30 does not have active noise cancellation and relies on passive isolation. Despite that, it blocked out external noise well when we tested the headset. Like other headphones without active noise cancellation, it worked best in quieter home environments.
The passive isolation of this headset blocked out high-pitched sounds excellently, around 30-40dB of attenuation above 2kH. However, it only attenuates around 10dB for 500Hz frequencies.

The built-in mic and boom mic of the A30 performed well and blocked out background noise effectively. In our Discord voice calls, none of our friends heard the noise in our surroundings.
The boom mic had excellent clarity and decent background noise isolation, while the built-in mic had more high-end. Although the frequency range was not broad and had a lesser high end, it isolated our voices well. However, it was sensitive to placement and picked up our breath since it had no windscreen.
Connectivity and Battery
The connectivity and battery of the A30 is ideal for wireless gaming. Its wireless dongle guarantees low-latency gaming, which keeps video and audio in sync.
Logitech advertised the A30 has 27 hours of battery life, but it lasted longer during our tests. Our headset lasted 30 hours, playing music, gaming, and doing Zoom calls at 75 dB. We found its power-saving function handy since it automatically shuts off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
