ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Router Review – Design and Functionality
While writing this ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Router Review, we noticed the excellent build quality of the product. It has a durable plastic body and a stylish design, with a form that is as solid as a tank.
The router is large, measuring 35.5 x 35.5 x 19.3cm, and weighs 2.18kg. Keep in mind that there are no holes in the router for wall mounting. So it is best to make some space when setting up.
It measures 193mm high when you set its antenna upright. You can move the antenna to open outward and rotate it left/right. Doing so allows you to decrease its height when necessary.
On the primary unit is a wired port on its rear, where you can find the reset button. There are also four LAN ports arranged in two rows, and next to these are the WAN and 10G ports.
The Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro has an AC adapter with a total output of 65W, and it is massive for a WiFi router. Interestingly, it is not linked directly to an outlet. Instead, it connects at the centre of the cord.
The top surface of the router has LED lighting in the form of ROG branding. Its left portion features a LED and WPS button. When pressing the latter, the LED aesthetics at the top switches off, but LED indicators on the upper front remain.
The rear houses the DC input, USB 2.0 port, power switch, and USB 3.0 port.
Distinct Functions of the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Router
This router functions for gaming since its Adaptive QoS prioritises specific transmission. Thus, you can set game communication to the highest priority. It will stabilise game correspondence despite congestion with other applications/tasks.
Conversely, you can prioritise media streaming and telework can and shift them based on usage.
You can also find a setting item called the Game Boost for Adaptive QoS for gaming. It is convenient if you only want to prioritise your favourite games.
There is also Mobile Game Boost for prioritising communication specific to mobile games. You can switch it on/off via the ASUS Router application.
If you prefer switching it off/on another way, you can. However, it is only possible when you play online games via your Smartphone.
Additionally, the router sports an OPEN NAT function. It lets you set the port opening based on the title of your online game.
As time passes, games requiring port opening continue to decrease. However, if something happens with communication, this is one of the possible countermeasures.
It is generally easy to use: choose the game title from your list.

Hands-on with the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Router
The most vital section of our ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro Router Review is sharing our hands-on experience. We will discuss how it fared during our tests since we used it for more than a week.
Before we give you details about its performance, we will share how the configuration process was with the Router App.
The Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro is easy to organise and manage using the ASUS Router App. It provides you with intuitive access to the arsenal of powerful features for the product. This app also has a user-friendly web-based interface that allows setting up a 10Gbps LAN/WAN port.
When we set up the router, we first linked the LAN cable to its WAN port. Then, we switched on its power and chose set up on the router.
Choose what device you want to configure. In this situation, choose the ASUS RT/GT/TUF/GS series router on top.
Then, the product will get automatically detected, so tap the Rapture GT-AX11000 Pro to choose. If you cannot locate it, scan the QR code behind the router.
We began the initial setup. A system setting screen appeared called the ISP with a VLAN tag. If in case there is nothing like this during your installation, go on to the next screen.
Afterwards, we created a WiFi network by setting a WiFi SSID and password. Since it is a tri-band unit, we had to make three SSIDs.
The next step was to create our login account, which will be the ID and password for the router setup. We need to use it for opening the setting screen via a web browser. So we suggest writing it down in a safe place to avoid forgetting.
After doing this, the process is complete.
Once done, we set the SSID and password of the router to our Smartphone before connecting to our WiFi. After setting it up, returning to the ASUS Router App will automatically perform network optimisation.
We waited for a bit to complete the process. Once done, the SSID, passwords, and login ID will appear.
For backup, we suggest taking a screenshot of these details and avoiding showing these to others for security. We completed the setup process from there and were ready to use the router.
All ROG routers can have complete configurations via web browser, the ASUS Router App, or Smartphones. The free app allows everyone to check the network status even if they are not home. It even lets you make gaming optimisations, access creation for guests, etc.
When you are away from the ASUS home network, it is possible to use the Instant Guard mobile app. It is a free application that lets you route its internet connection via an encrypted VPN tunnel.
With the app, public WiFi connections can be safer no matter where you are.
Regarding the LEDs on this unit, its colour and lighting methods are customisable via the ASUS Router App.
When we used the router, we were incredibly satisfied with its overall performance, stability, and ease of use. It performed perfectly and delivered a fast and reliable network without random disconnections.
Despite the distance between our devices and routers, we enjoyed stable connectivity. We also used its unique functions to optimise our gaming experience.
Based on our tests, its range was similar to other WiFi 6 routers, but it will vary. It will all depend on the layout of your home. Aside from excellent stability and range, the router delivered high speeds, exceeding 1Gbps within short distances.
