Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review – Design and Functionality
The MMX 330 Pro is bulkier than most gaming headsets and weighs 318g, making it slightly heavier than its predecessor. This weight made it comfortable to wear for long periods, making it ideal for gaming marathons. Wearing this headset was also comfortable, even with glasses on, and we did not experience fatigue.
When we examined the product for this Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review, we noticed minimal changes in its appearance. It retained the classic black design with plush black ear pads and orange highlights.

Since it is an open-back gaming headset, it delivers a natural, spatial, and transparent sound. Its high-quality audio reflects Beyerdynamic’s studio expertise. We will discuss all the details about its audio quality in this Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review.
The stealthy black design with understated branding offers a premium and classic aesthetic. Its only hint of colour is on the earcups, which is the printed model name. This element makes identifying the MMX 330 Pro easier when placed next to its predecessor.
Key Features of the Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review
What features make the latest Beyerdynamic headset an excellent choice? Does it deliver high-quality audio? Read our Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review as we discuss its primary features to learn more about the product.
The Competitive Edge
The open design of the MMX 330 Pro offers spatial audio, a broad soundstage, and excellent microphone quality. As a result, it immediately localises acoustic in-game events.
STELLAR.45 Drivers
Beyerdynamic equipped the MMX 330 Pro with the dynamic STELLAR.45 drivers, which the company’s studio headphones also use. The sound tuning puts you at an advantage over fellow players when gaming.
Powerful Headset for PC and Console Use
The low-impedance drivers make the MMX 330 Pro suitable for all devices, including PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Beyerdynamic supplies the headset with a Y-adapter to ensure compatibility with other devices.
Superior Speech Intelligibility
The condenser microphone of the MMX 330 Pro reproduces voices naturally, making it intelligible during voice chats. The clarity allows your teammates to understand you amidst the most intense gaming sessions.
The microphone also has a cardioid polar pattern to prioritise voices and resist signals from other directions.
Unmatched Wearing Comfort
The MMX 330 Pro is a well-designed headset that is comfortable to wear even over several hours. Its velour ear pads and buttoned head cushion with soft memory foam prevent discomfort. Also, the integrated fontanelle recess avoids potentially pain-sensitive areas for enhanced comfort.
Thanks to these features, we did not experience discomfort while using the product for this Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review. We enjoyed using it since it was lightweight and had minimal pressure on the head and ears.
Made in Germany for Guaranteed Quality
Like all Beyerdynamic products, the MMX 330 Pro is a high-quality headset manufactured in Germany. It complies with the highest quality standards and undergoes strict quality control.
Hands-on with the Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro
In our Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro Review, we tested the headset to evaluate its audio quality, and as expected from Beyerdynamic, it delivered exceptional sound performance.
The MMX 330 Pro creates an expansive stereo soundstage, offering impressive immersion without sacrificing fidelity. This open soundscape reminded us why open-back headsets are favoured for gaming, as it provides a more natural and spacious listening experience.
We tested the MMX 330 Pro on both PlayStation 5 and PC, using it with 3D audio software. However, we preferred the headset’s natural stereo sound, which offered plenty of depth and dimension with accurate stereo imaging. The result was a rich, precise audio experience that enhanced our gaming sessions.
During gameplay, the MMX 330 Pro excelled at reproducing ambient sounds, which blended seamlessly with dialogue and other sound effects while keeping the audio open and spacious. It allowed us to easily pinpoint sound placement and movement, offering greater clarity than many other gaming headsets.
While some gaming headsets emphasise low-end rumble, the MMX 330 Pro impressed us with its detailed bass response. The sub-bass resonance was deep and impactful, without being overwhelming. Although the sound signature was more neutral than cinematic, the headset managed to deliver an impressive level of detail and separation, creating a balanced audio foundation for other frequencies.
Low frequencies were rich and well-rounded, providing just the right amount of punch without overshadowing other elements of the sound. The mid-range was equally impressive, with lush and detailed tones that made dialogue clear and music well-balanced. Every nuance was audible, thanks to the well-layered and finely tuned mid-range.
One of the standout features of the MMX 330 Pro was the smooth transition between frequency ranges. There was no muddiness, and vocals sat cleanly at the forefront, while music and sound effects remained crisp and detailed, enhancing the overall sense of immersion.
Beyerdynamic is known for delivering refined treble, and the MMX 330 Pro continues that tradition, albeit in a more reserved manner. The treble was smooth, with just the right amount of impact, balancing the overall sound signature beautifully. Even though it wasn’t as pronounced as the bass or mids, the treble maintained a natural, immersive feel that complemented the rest of the frequency range.
Whether we were listening to music or gaming, the audio was consistently natural and realistic, making for an enjoyable listening experience.
We also tested the microphone to assess its performance. The MMX 330 Pro’s condenser cardioid microphone captured our voices with clarity and precision, delivering a clear signal that made our voices more intelligible compared to other gaming headsets. This made communication during gameplay seamless and effective.
