Generally, the Jaybird Freedom 2 is an excellent combination of durability and convenience. It sports a comfy design that tweaks compared to the original set of Jaybird Freedom headphones.
The original headphones and the Jaybird Freedom 2 have the same quality build. However, the latest version is more comfortable and has better adjustments. It’s all thanks to the latest cable management clip and earbud-like tips.
Next on our Jaybird Freedom 2 review is all about the packaging and its contents.
Jaybird Freedom 2 Packaging
Our Jaybird Freedom 2 arrived in a simple-looking cardboard box. The front displays an image of the headphones, the company’s name on the upper-left, and the product’s name below.
Under the name, the company made sure to notify everyone that the Freedom 2 are wireless sport headphones. Underneath, you’ll find a list of the product’s key features.
When you flip the box, the rear provides more details about the Freedom 2’s features and what it can offer.
Inside the box, you’ll get the headphones itself together with three extra wing/ear tips, and a small carrying case. There’s also a charging clip, a cable clip, a micro USB charging cable, plus the instructional booklet and warranty information.
Next on our Jaybird Freedom 2 review is the design and functions of the headphones.
Jaybird Freedom 2 Review – Design and Functionality
Looking at the exterior of the Freedom 2, you’ll see that it’s identical to the original Freedom. The only difference is the new cable management clip which makes the construction slightly more adjustable. It’s to accommodate different head sizes for better comfort.
The design also has more improved earbud-like tips that are better and more comfortable. Aside from the minor improvements, the rest of Freedom 2’s style is identical to the first model.
Both headphones sport the same sleek and polished design that’s much smaller than the Jaybird X3. They’re also much smaller than the other wireless earphones that we’ve tried. However, you should note that the Jaybird Freedom 2’s charging clip is on the bulky side.
The headset also doesn’t come in flashy, vibrant colour schemes like most similar products. However, its dark colour theme is great and works for most.
For the tips, they come in different sets, and they seem like a cross between your usual in-ear earbuds. These won’t go too deep into your ear canal as the original Freedom – something that a lot would prefer. Because of the design, it won’t cause any form of fatigue or soreness even with prolonged usage.
For the control scheme of the Jaybird Freedom 2, we can say that it’s incredibly straightforward and efficient. It offers vital functions like track skips, call/music, plus volume controls.
Its in-line remote isn’t wide like that of the Jaybird X3. However, the good thing about it is that it’s straightforward and easy to use. The buttons give a bit more feedback compared to the original, but it’s not noticeable.

Hands-on with the Jaybird Freedom 2
When it comes to its bass, it’s above average. With that, we received punchy bass delivery which is perfect for anyone who loves heavy bass.
