In this day and age, it’s a must for manufacturers to create true wireless earbuds and earphones. And to get one of the best, our JBL Reflect Flow review will give you just that.
When looking in the market, notice that most people opt for the more reputable companies. They also go for the dark-themed in-ear pieces than the droplet-style that Apple goes for.
One of the reputable companies until today is JBL. At some point, they’ve gone for product designs that are similar to other audio companies. But knowing the quality of their products, we’re always excited to try them out.
Since they’re also a big hit with wireless sports earphones, their latest entry will be a sure win. The JBL Reflect Flow is the company’s latest offering to the market. And based on its looks, features, quality, and specifications, it is indeed a promising and must-try piece.
But before we get further into the product in our JBL Reflect Flow review, let’s see what’s inside its package.
JBL Reflect Flow Packaging
This section of our JBL Reflect Flow review talks about the packaging and contents of the product. When we got our hands on our black JBL Reflect Flow, it came in your typical-looking JBL package.
The box’s front displays an image of the product, along with its name written on the upper right corner. The logo of JBL is on the top left portion, while the lower-left section notes that it is Bluetooth-compatible.
Its sides show a few more details about the earphones, and the rear provides additional information about the Reflect Flow.
Inside, you will find the Reflect Flow itself. And just like other JBL products, it’s packed securely to avoid damage while in transit. Other than the earphones, the package includes three differently-sized ear-tips, three sizes of Freebit, a charging case, and charging cable. Of course, you’ll also find the standard warranty card and the safety sheet.
Next on the JBL Reflect Flow review is its design and functions.
JBL Reflect Flow Review – Design and Functionality
The JBL Reflect Flow is the company’s latest IPX7-rated true wireless earphones for sports. It comes with a 5.8mm drive that as well as JBL’s signature sound profile. With that, you can expect outstanding sounds for all music genres.
Although the earphones are quite large, the Reflect Flow has a lightweight build and only weighs 85g. They feature the usual shark fins or wingtips to fit your ears properly.
Since the earphones are rated IPX7, you can submerge the Reflect Flow in the water. Although this is the case, we still don’t recommend that you swim while using them. But technically, these can handle submersion of up to a meter without any problems. Do note that the case isn’t waterproof, so slipping in wet earphones will likely break it.
When it comes to the charging case, it’s compact and measures 1.1 x 3.3 x 1.5″ (H x W x D). It gives you a sturdy feel with its flip-top lid and status LEDs beneath the micro USB charging port.
For the controls on each earpiece, they differ slightly from each other. The one on the left controls the Ambient Aware mode. Press it twice so you can skip the track forward. The right earpiece controls call management and playback.
What’s cool is that both earpieces power down when you press the panels for five seconds. Another way to power it down is by pressing one of the earpieces for two seconds.

Hands-On with the JBL Reflect Flow
This section is the part of our JBL Reflect Flow review where we get hands-on with the Reflect Flow.
Let’s first focus on the Ambient Aware mode of the earphones, which is a useful aspect of the product. What’s worth noting is that the surroundings remained audible even when we wore the earpieces.
Using these, we noticed that the earphones were still secure despite not creating a strong in-ear seal. We suggest that you choose the best ear tips and fins to achieve the perfect fit and best audio experience.
TalkThru mode is something we activated via pressing on the left button. It resulted in a considerable reduction during playback. Simultaneously, external high-frequency noise was amplified because of the mic. With that, conversing with others was possible without us experiencing any problems or issues in the process.
When we were in a quiet location, background noise was still perceived, but it didn’t hinder with speech intelligibility.
JBL claimed that you could have 10 hours of music playback with the Reflect Flow. You’ll get another full two charges in the charging case, so that’s 20 hours all in all.
The Reflect Flow has a perfect fit, so they didn’t fall out even when we were jogging. They’re not only secure, but they’re also comfortable. So, even when we wore it for prolonged hours, it still felt comfortable in the ears.
Now for its sound quality. We tried listening to a variety of songs, and in all honesty, we couldn’t believe the sound that the earphones produced. We can say that we have a new winner after trying the JBL Reflect Flow.
Noise isolation for the Reflect Flow is perfect, and its mid-range performance was very good for blocking speech. However, it does fall a bit short when it comes to the bass range. As for the leakage performance, it’s superb. There isn’t any leakage, so you can easily shift the volume higher without bothering people around you.
Overall, the JBL Reflect Flow performed exquisitely, and we’re giving it five stars for it.
