JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Headphones Review – Design and Functionality

We immediately unboxed the product for this JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Headphones Review. When we took it out of the box, we were surprised by the size of the Tour One M2. It looked so small after we got it out of the box, making it a compact and portable product.

It has flattened-out, sleek ear cups with a design resembling the 1000x series. You can choose from black or silver, both understated for JBL. However, its cups pivot nicely, making them easy to stow.

The right ear cup houses the pairing/power switch and its volume control rockers. It is also touch-sensitive for playback/voice control, which is convenient. Its left ear cup features a customisable button for ANC and other related modes.

You will find a glossy outline at the top edge where its yokes are linked to the ear cups. It is a nice addition to the headphones since it adds a classier vibe.

The headphones also have one of the best fits that JBL offers. Their ear cushions are comfy even when worn for hours.

The Tour One M2 sports ANC features plus dynamic audio thanks to its massive 40mm dynamic drivers. Additionally, these elements make it a versatile product suited for indie rock, nu-metal, pop rock, and other tunes.

These headphones use Bluetooth 5.3 LE and support two-device multipoint connections. Their battery can last about 30 hours with ANC and 50 hours without.

Hands-on with the JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Headphones

The Tour One M2 is an excellent product on paper, but how does it fare when tested? Read our JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Headphones Review since we will share our experience with the headphones. We used the product for one week to see if it’s as good as claims.

Since the headphones use Bluetooth 5.3 LE, we experienced a stable connection. Connecting the Tour One M2 was quick and seamless, with instant pairing.

The soundstage can undergo significant transformations depending on the features in use. While spatial sound remained the predominant factor, EQ and Personi-Fi played a significant role. With all these features deactivated, the Tour One M2 exhibited expansive qualities that set it apart from other JBL headphones.

Most sound elements avoid clustering in a central position and expand to occupy distinct spaces within the mix. The left and right pan movements were conveyed for a wireless headphone, and efforts were made to create discernable layers. When we used spatial mode with the music preset, imaging projected forward, enhancing the clarity of vocals.

However, its sound signature loses some fidelity, making it appear more like an EQ preset than 3D.

The battery life of these headphones is impressive, as they provide long hours of playtime. On a full charge, we could enjoy hours of music playtime without worrying about our battery draining.

During our tests for this JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Headphones Review, we needed a quick charge at some point. Fortunately, the product allows a 10-minute fast charge for five hours of playtime.

JBL’s signature bass tuning takes centre stage in this instance. The robust bass features a luxurious timbre that maintains a sense of control. With the EQ, you can experiment and amplify the bass tone to your heart’s content.

The Tour One M2 delivers powerful bass, striking a harmonious balance with finesse. No hints of overpowering or booming bass frequencies were present in its default configuration. Upon activating Personi-Fi, the bass gains additional strength, accompanied by heightened vibrations from subtle sub-bass details.

It surpasses JBL’s typical midrange performance. The representation of midrange frequencies is predominantly surface-level, maintaining coherence without distractions or inelegance. It exhibits effective organisation and management, even with limited space.

Noteworthy energy and detail are primarily evident in the low and upper midrange. However, the overall response remains cohesive. Instruments are perfectly blended, with vocals standing out prominently in terms of transparency.

Personi-fi is particularly active, especially when tailored to our auditory preferences. However, it is also somewhat selective.

Occasionally, guitars sounded honky, yet in other instances, they optimised timbre with additional detail. Ultimately, the discernible flaws appeared prominently in dynamically diverse tracks. However, consistently upbeat tracks benefited from the added structural enhancement.

The highs still allowed us to enjoy our tunes even without EQ and its other features. The timbre is balanced, and the response is never harsh.

Its frequencies have a fine edge and are apparent when we use EQ or Personi-Fi. Similar to the mids, you can receive mixed results. However, we preferred the more cheery and energetic vibe here.

During mobile and video calls, our voices were clear for the receiver to understand. Thanks to the seven microphones, noise was decreased while voices were effectively picked up.

Although voices sound slightly harsh midrange, you can still use the product at home or in your office.
