Today, we’re going to focus on this specific product from Logitech. Our Logitech Crayon Review will provide you with all the vital information you’d need. These include features, specifications, performance, and if it’s something worth purchasing.
The Logitech Crayon first appeared last 2018 and was introduced as a more cost-efficient alternative to the Apple Pencil. It came along with the 6th Generation iPad as well. Then, the Crayon was exclusively sold to schools and other branches under the education sector. Plus, the Logitech Crayon was only available in the United States.
Early this year, the company released their Crayon in Australia, so it’s now available wherever an iPad is for sale.
Logitech Crayon Packaging
The Logitech Crayon comes in a nice sleek and clean-looking box with an image of the pen right in front. On the top-left portion is the name of the stylus and the iPad models that are compatible with it. Flipping the box, it shows you the product’s key features written in English and French. Inside the box is the Logitech Crayon itself, together with a user manual and nothing more.
Next in our Logitech Crayon review is more about the product itself. We’ll focus on how it looks, its parts, as well as how it works.
Logitech Crayon Review – Design and Functionality
The Logitech Crayon is a versatile tool for almost every iPad model. And with that, it allows you to unleash your creativity. Since it works with a lot of apps supporting Apple Pencil, you can create, collaborate, and learn with the Crayon.
The Crayon’s body is 6.5 inches long with an aluminium body. It resembles a carpenter’s pencil, a flat and narrow rectangle that won’t easily roll off a flat surface. Despite the unique shape for a pen, it feels comfortable to hold.
It weighs 0.7 ounce, which is light enough to make it feel like you’re using a real pencil. The light metal build is slightly textured, and its orange tip accentuates the stylus’ sleek, minimalist design. With the tip’s bright colour, you can easily spot the Logitech Crayon, in case you misplace it.
Designed to be more kid-friendly compared to the Apple Pencil, the Crayon’s parts are more difficult to tamper with. The two tiny holes on the stylus feature a special tool that releases the front end to remove and replace the tip. Popping it off or by fiddling with the parts doesn’t remove the end easily, making the Crayon a child-friendly tool.
As we mentioned earlier, the Crayon has an orange tip. It’s a rubber cap that keeps the Lightning charging port protected. Unlike the Apple Pencil’s male port, Crayon has a female port which you can charge with a basic Lightning cable. It’s easy to remove the orange plastic cap, but it won’t affect the stylus’ efficiency.
Near one of the ends is the orange power button. Pressing it for a second will switch the Crayon on, which is faster and smoother like other devices requiring Bluetooth pairing. To switch this off, all you have to do is press and hold the power button.

Long-Lasting Batteries
A single charge gives your Logitech Crayon up to 7.5 hours of writing time. After 30 minutes of idle time, it automatically shuts off to save power. If you’re low on battery, you can give it 2 minutes of charging boost for 30 minutes of writing time.

It comes with a limited 1-year warranty, and the company also offers a dedicated support line if you encounter issues.
Now that you have an idea on its specifications, we’ll proceed to the next part of our Logitech Crayon review. It will be about the product’s performance.
Hands-on with the Logitech Crayon
Like the Apple Pencil, the Logitech Crayon has palm rejection. It allows users to place their hand on the iPad’s screen while writing or drawing. Because of this, we comfortably did a variety of tasks with a natural position. Whether we were doodling images or scribbling some words, the Logitech Crayon worked excellently. It registered what we wrote and drew even with our hand on the screen. It also glided smoothly across our iPad screen, unlike cheap styli in office supply shops and other online stores. As the company claimed, the Crayon truly offers pressure sensitivity and palm rejection.
Since it doesn’t support pressure sensitivity, it didn’t give the beautiful, varied lines as the Apple Pencil does. It all depends on the lightness or hardness of your strokes. Despite this, the Crayon still delivered accuracy because of its slender tip. With tilt detection, we were able to draw lines of different volumes while doodling. The strokes we made with the Logitech Crayon were not as fine as those produced by the Apple Pencil. However, it’s more than enough if you’re going to use it for general writing.
What we liked the most about the Logitech Crayon was its responsiveness. Our marks, scribbles, and doodles appeared immediately, and we did not detect any latency while using it.
For the built-in battery, it lasts for half a day, as the company claimed. It may sound like a short amount of time, but if you won’t use it continuously, it’s more than enough. The two minutes of charging boost is also true. We tried recharging it when we ran out of power, and we were able to use it for a few hours.
Overall, we’re giving five stars for the Logitech Crayon’s excellent performance.
