Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Packaging

Before we get to its ins-and-outs, our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review will first discuss its packaging and contents. When the keyboard arrived, it came in a standard-looking Logitech box which is something we expected.

The front displays a huge image of the keyboard, while a boldly-written “G613” is easily seen on the upper-left corner. On the lower-left side, Logitech and its logo are also present.

The package’s rear displays the company’s tagline and the keyboard’s name on the left. There’s also another image of the keyboard that’s almost two-thirds the size.

To its right, you’ll see mentions of its key features like the utilisation of Romer-G switches, and LIGHTSPEED Wireless technology. It also highlights the use of Bluetooth connectivity and the inclusion of G-Keys.

After removing the box’s thin sleeve that holds all the details, we were left with a matte black cardboard container. When we opened the black box, we saw that the keyboard inside was covered by its protective envelope.

Aside from the keyboard, other inclusions in the box are the LIGHTSPEED USB receiver, phone stand, and extender USB cable. There are also two AA batteries and user documentation.

Next, our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review will discuss the keyboard’s design and what its functions are.

Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Review – Design and Functionality

Compared to the company’s G810 Orion Spectrum, the G613 wireless mechanical keyboard sports an additional row of macro keys. It also comes with a huge wrist rest which is pretty convenient.

The G613 wireless mechanical keyboard features a rigid backplate made from plastic. It runs along the wrist rest and keyboard.

Though aluminium is always a preferred material, the plastic on this keyboard still does the job. It can adequately keep things stable and sturdy at all times.

There are two feet that help lift the back of this keyboard. Doing so gives you a better and more comfortable typing angle. Also, there’s a covered channel for two AA batteries available and a spot for the USB-A dongle.

On the leftmost portion of the keyboard, you’ll find the column of six dedicated programmable macro keys. Unlike the rest of the keys that have white labels, the G-keys have blue.

The keyboard’s right edge sports a power toggle, then on top of the board are the rest of the accoutrements. This product has a neat and clean look, but compared to the more modern keyboards, it looks a bit chunky.

At the top of the navigation key cluster, you’ll see only two lights present on this keyboard. One is for the caps lock and the other is for its battery status.

Next to these is the toggle switch for the gaming mode. Do note that when in use, it disables the Windows keys to stop window-swapping during gameplay. There are two buttons for choosing the connection type as well.

The Bluetooth and the company’s 2.4GHz LIGHTSPEED connection are the available options. This is actually nice if you need a keyboard and don’t utilise the USB-A port for plugging the dongle.

To make our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review more detailed and informative, we’re also discussing the product’s keys. The G613 wireless mechanical keyboard uses the company’s proprietary Romer-G mechanical switches.

They’re good and fairly quiet and tactile such as the Cherry MX Browns. We also find them quite comfortable which is a good thing. Another plus with these switches is that they’re more responsive, and Logitech claims they last longer too.

Key Features of the Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

The keyboard’s primary features are necessary for this Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review. So, we’re discussing what this product can offer, and what makes it a favourite until today.

LIGHTSPEED Wireless

Logitech G created LIGHTSPEED, a professional-grade wireless solution to solve common issues like stability, connectivity, and latency. The company made LIGHTSPEED Wireless with end-to-end engineering and design to achieve the performance of wired peripherals.

Romer-G Tactile

The G613 wireless mechanical keyboard is equipped with Romer-G Tactile switches to deliver silent and precise mechanical performance. These durable switches have a great feel and 70 million click life.

The Romer-G Tactile switches are the choice of top esports professionals. It has a short-throw 1.5mm actuation which is faster by 25% than standard mechanical switches’ 11.5mm actuation distance.

These key switches offer an excellent combination of precision, speed, and quiet performance while maintaining a tactile feel.

Programmable G-Keys

Using custom macros and in-app commands, you can program the G613’s six dedicated G-keys. With that, you can execute complex actions quickly with a simple keystroke.

The G-Keys can be assigned per app profile or game for convenience. All customisations are done via the Logitech Gaming Software which allows for easy setup and management.

Connect to Multiple Devices

With LIGHTSPEED WIreless, you can enjoy an ultrafast 1ms report rate. Or, you can switch to another paired device by pushing a single button.

This wireless keyboard lets you toggle with ease between LIGHTSPEED wireless and Bluetooth using the USB receiver.

18-month Battery Life

The G613 uses only two AA batteries which last for up to 18 months. Of course, this depends on your usage and computing conditions.

Now, our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review will discuss the specifications of the keyboard.

Specifications

The G613 wireless mechanical keyboard uses Romer-G tactile switches that offer 70M presses. Its travel and actuation are 3.2mm and 1.5mm respectively.

For its connection, it makes use of Bluetooth and LIGHTSPEED 2.4GHz. To use it, you only need two AA batteries which will last you up to 18 months in total.

For its dimensions, the G613 wireless mechanical keyboard is 478 x 216 x 33mm and weighs 1.46kg. Logitech also included a two-year warranty with this keyboard.

So with all these great features and specifications, is the G613 wireless mechanical keyboard just as good as claims? Let’s check this out as we continue our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review.

Hands-on with the Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

The G613 wireless mechanical keyboard runs on Logitech’s Gaming Software which is user-friendly and versatile. Here, you’ll be able to program the additional column of G keys, and also define parameters for Game Mode. You’ll also be able to configure unique profiles for each game you’re playing.

When testing the keyboard for our Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard review, we saw that its typing quality is good. The keys were stable and were easy to press, as well as use.

When typing, we didn’t make a lot of typos since its key spacing is adequately decent. However, some may accidentally actuate a couple of keys because of their short pre-travel distance.

We also loved the fact that it’s a wireless keyboard and it stayed connected even at a slight distance. There, we linked our computer to a big-screened TV while we used the keyboard about 10ft away. It worked fine and there were no lags or connectivity issues despite the distance, and that was pretty amazing.

We also tested the keyboard for gaming and we tried different games too. It was able to handle everything perfectly just like how a wired model would. And, its keys transmitted our commands immediately and with ease.

We didn’t experience any lags in movements, nor did we have any problems with inputs. And no matter how fast we shifted from selections in games, it performed excellently with no problems.

With its precision and performance, we believe other users won’t be able to discern that it’s a wireless keyboard. And as we mentioned earlier, the G613 wireless mechanical keyboard performed just as well as wired ones.

Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Review Summary

The G613 is a good overall mechanical gaming keyboard. Its design is excellent if you want to reduce cables or use it in a living room setup. Also, it comes with a lot of impressive features.
