The mouse came in a very clean and premium-looking package that matches the product itself. It sports an all-white theme and it also includes an image of the mouse in front, at the centre. Its name is found at the top of the image, while Logitech is just below it.

On the rear portion of the box, you’ll find more details about the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac.

Inside, you’ll find the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac along with other inclusions. These are a USB-C to C cable for charging, and a user manual.

Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac Review – Design and Functionality

The mouse that we have for this Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac review is the white coloured one. It looks clean, sleek, and elegant which gives it a premium appearance. We also love its silver accents that add more style and aesthetics to the mouse.

The mouse has your regular right and left buttons plus a scroll wheel at the centre. The latter works as a middle mouse button too which is something we find quite convenient. There’s a centre button below the scroll wheel and a little green LED light. It’s to indicate that the mouse is charging.

To its left side are two buttons which are usually found on low-end gaming mice instead of general-use ones. Out of the box, these function as regular side buttons; however, they’re also utilised for horizontal scrolling. When holding either of the side buttons while scrolling, you’ll move horizontally.

The mouse is powered with USB-C and should have a total of 70 days of use on a regular charge. For quick charging, just one minute can get you a total of three hours of use which is pretty neat.

Working on our Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac review, we learnt of its show-stealing feature – the MagSpeed scroll wheel. It’s machined steel and feels premium, precise, and tactile. This wheel is controlled using finely-tuned electromagnets that can provide that clicking sensation whenever you roll it.

If you aren’t into the faux click sensation, you can also toggle this. The button at the back of the scroll wheel is the mode shift button. It can specifically alter the wheel from clicking to free-spinning.

The MX Anywhere 3 for Mac has six buttons. A lot of these have additional functions when you utilise them to their maximum potential.

Each button can be assigned with new commands, but you can also do this on a per-app basis. For example, you can set the side buttons to undo/redo when using Photoshop or Final Cut Pro X. Or when on a Zoom call, these can mute the mic and pause the video.

The centre button can be set to pause/play inside Final Cut. Or, it can switch to Photoshop’s marquee tool.

If you like the scroll wheel’s feel, you don’t need to bother with the mode shift button. You can instead assign it to App Expose or display your desktop.

Key Features of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac

Now, our Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac review will focus on the different key features of the mouse.

The Reinvented Scroll Wheel

The MagSpeed scrolling is accurate enough to stop on a pixel. It’s also fast enough to scroll 1,000 lines within a second.

The MX Anywhere 3 for Mac can deliver silently since the machined steel offers dynamic inertia and premium tactility. With that, you can feel tactile feedback without hearing it.

Contoured for Comfort

The MX Anywhere 3 for Mac has a compact and low-profile design and is contoured for your hand’s shape. Plus, it has silicone side grips, making it soft to the touch. These features make the mouse comfortable for long hours of use no matter where you’re working.

Track on Any Surface

The MX Anywhere 3 for Mac can virtually track on any surface including glass with minimum thickness of 24mm. With that, you can work seamlessly at any desk or cafe table.

USB-C to USB-C Charging

The MX Anywhere 3 for Mac connects directly to your Mac with a USB-C to USB-C cable. When fully charged, the mouse stays powered for up to 70 days. Charging it for a minute gives you three hours of use.

But of course, its battery life may vary depending on your computing conditions.

In addition to this part of our Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac review, you can use optional software. These are the Logitech Options and the Logitech Flow .

Hands-on with the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac

Logitech says that the mouse needs to fully charge for three hours, so we let it charge for that entire duration. They also say that it can run for 70 days on a single charge. However, we haven’t tested it for that long yet, but that’s quite a long time and sounds pretty cool.

What we did next was follow the given instructions on the sticker to link our Mac. We switched it on, accessed the Bluetooth section in System Preferences, and ensured that Bluetooth was on. Then, we pressed a little white Bluetooth Source button and waited until a small white LED lit up.

Our Mac was able to detect it easily, and we synced the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac without any issues. We’re actually glad that Logitech made the whole process of connecting to Apple devices quick and painless via Bluetooth.

Just like what Logitech claims, the mouse’s MagSpeed Electromagnetic Scrolling is accurate enough to stop on pixels. It’s quick enough to scroll a thousand lines in just a second, plus, it’s also almost silent which is great.

The machined steel of the wheel did give off a premium tactility and compelling inertia that we felt. It’s great, and we believe that there’s some electromagnetic magic happening that gives its wheel outstanding inertia.

Overall, the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac performed excellently, and we were really happy with its performance.
