Recently, Logitech launched a new microphone for its collection of notable streaming products. Today, we will discuss everything about it in our Logitech Yeti Orb Review.
The Yeti Orb is a premium gaming/streaming mic featuring LIGHTSYNC RGB, Blue VO!CE presets and a condenser capsule. It also uses a USB connection to provide ease of use and convenience.
Continue reading our Logitech Yeti Orb Review to learn more about it. Plus, you will see how the Yeti Orb is a nice refresh of the earlier Blue Snowball mic.
Logitech Yeti Orb Packaging
The microphone ships in a standard-looking Logitech box and is thick enough to protect the items inside during transit. It sports the usual grey-blue aesthetic. The front features an image of the mic with its name and company branding.
Inside, you will find these items in the box which include:
- Yeti Orb
- Tripod Stand
- 2m USB-C to A Cable
- 30-day Trial Code to the Steamlabs Ultra
Remember that the mic is already attached to the tripod at a 45° angle.
Logitech Yeti Orb Review – Design and Functionality
You might have noticed where the background for this mic comes from. It is evident if you are familiar with the Blue Snowball mic. Since Logitech acquired Blue, the company decided to take inspiration from this experience.
After unboxing the product for this Logitech Yeti Orb Review, we saw how minimal its design is. The Yeti Orb is a ball concealed with a charcoal-grey mesh material, plus a black plastic band surrounding its mid-section.
Above the band is an RGB-infused Logitech G logo that shines in various colours based on the mic activity. Moreover, the product does not sport on-mic controls/ports, which is unsurprising given its price point and design. However, having the ability to mute the mic without using the software would be excellent.
You will find a USB-C connector to link the product to your PC on its rear. It does not feature buttons or other elements to operate the Yeti Orb. So, you have to do everything via software.
We noticed a black plastic stand in the package while unboxing it for our Logitech Yeti Orb Review. It is solid and durable, but you can easily unscrew it if you want the mic mounted on a microphone arm.
The stand has a base that rotates 360° and measures 107.95mm, while the mic is 88.9mm long. Keep in mind that it is non-adjustable, minus the rotating. However, the two mounting points of the Yeti Orb allow you to shift angles.
There are two 6.35mm threaded brackets for it, or you can adjust the angle of your table.

Hands-on with the Logitech Yeti Orb
Our Logitech Yeti Orb Review will focus on all the details about using the product. Before sharing our user experience, we will discuss the Logitech G Hub software, its interface and the available settings.
Logitech G Hub Software
You can manage and customise the Yeti Orb via the G Hub software from Logitech. It is where the company gathers all the G products. So, if you own other products from them, you can find them here.
The software lets you adjust elements like input/output volume and more.
However, a feature that takes most of the software is Blue VO!CE customisation, which is an EQ adjustment. It has four pre-installed settings, but you can also customise your preferred settings.
Sound Effects and Macro Functions
Additionally, serving as a somewhat gimmicky element, you can apply various effects to your voice. It means you can enjoy and make yourself sound the following:
- An alien
- A robot
- Chipmunks on helium, etc.
There are other options, so you will have fun using the software.
If you often stream or need a more practical application, an option lets you curate sound libraries for Macro functions. The library can consist of sound effects or personalised sound bites triggered with a keystroke during live streams.
While G Hub already provides a selection of effects, you can customise and expand your choices. The Blue VO!CE section also offers voice effects, allowing for a more extensive and personalised audio experience.
RGB Settings
Logitech G Hub lets you customise the RGB zones of compatible products. The RGB lighting of the Yeti Orb is on the G logo. You can choose from seven effects and customise these with the colours you want.
You can tie all settings to profiles to allow the system to switch back and forth automatically. This function lets you quickly change settings depending on your program and game.
Logitech G Hub is an impressive software that works excellently. It has all the necessary settings to tweak the Yeti Orb and improve your streaming experience.
Performance of the Logitech Yeti Orb
We used the mic for a few weeks for online gaming and sound tests for this Logitech Yeti Orb Review. We were impressed with its audio quality out of the box before we tweaked anything on G Hub. It performed well for its price range, delivering warm and full vocals while keeping hissing sounds and plosives minimised.
The sound of this mic was never muffled or overpowered. We loved the clean, crisp, and accurate audio that makes the mic ideal for podcasts.
This audio quality of the Yeti Orb was best when used directly, without any Blue VO!CE effects. It captured the nuances of our voices when we sat straight while the mic was on the desk. Of course, the sound improved when we moved closer, around 10cm away from the mic.
Although the Yeti Orb captured our voices well at a 30cm distance, its pickup started dropping noticeably beyond that. Placing the microphone behind the keyboard made our voices thinner with slight echoes. We recommend finding the best position for the mic to acquire the optimal sound quality.
The voice pickup of the Yeti Orb may not be perfect, but it was good at sorting out noise. It did not pick up the sound of our clicky mechanical keyboard despite placing the mic close to it.
The overall sound quality of the Yeti Orb was impressive, and we highly recommend it to streamers, gamers, and podcasters.
Logitech Yeti Orb Review Summary
Logitech has made a solid mic with the Yeti Orb. Its unique round form stands out from other streaming and gaming mics. Plus, it has a convenient plug-and-play design, making it ready for use out of the box.
We loved its audio quality when we tested the microphone for our Logitech Yeti Orb Review. Our voices were full and warm with excellent clarity since it minimised plosives and hissing sounds well. Aside from its sound, we liked the customisation options in the Logitech G Hub software.
We highly recommend the Yeti Orb to anyone who wants a great-sounding plug-and-play mic. It is a solid, user-friendly, compact, and lightweight option that is portable and excellent for travelling.
