Norton 360 Review

The Norton 360 security suite is known as one of the most trusted antivirus programs to date. And since it’s also one of the best on our list, we’re discussing it in our Norton 360 review.

The software has one of the best malware detection rates and offers excellent real-time protection. Plus, it’s even one of the most feature-rich applications around.

If you’re wondering what security features it offers, what its different plans are, we’ve got your back. In our Norton 360 review, we’ll give you details to help you decide if it’s the right antivirus for you.

Norton 360 Review – Design and Functionality

The software makes use of smart artificial intelligence or AI, and machine-learning to easily monitor all kinds of online threats. It also works by simultaneously protecting your devices against malware, viruses, ransomware, and spyware.

Norton 360 gives you the option to install the Norton toolbar together with Safe Web on your browsers. Once you’ve installed it, you’ll notice an icon next to your search each time you perform one on the web. This simply shows how safe your web search is, and you won’t need to worry about any unwanted attacks.

Here are the colours of the icon and what they mean:

A green icon means that it’s safe to click on while grey means it’s an unknown URL. Yellow is a potential risk while red means the site is risky.

If you want to know more, simply click on the icon to display a full report on the link.

What’s more impressive is that the system works on Facebook and Twitter feeds. Plus, it even works well on web-based emails.

If you’re worried about it cluttering your feed with additional icons, don’t. All it does is highlight all potentially risky links in red to ensure your safety without disturbing your user experience.

The software opens supported financial sites in the “Isolation Mode” for increased security. That means, it will appear on banking sites even if you’re logging in on new devices. So, have your security answers ready.

Looking further into the program for our Norton 360 review, we learned that it defends against ransomware. It works by protecting and securing documents against possible modifications by unknown programs.

Plans and Pricing

Norton 360 provides a ton of security features but how much is it and what does it offer? Here are the different Norton 360 plans which we’ll break down and see what makes them different from each other.

Norton Antivirus Plus

Norton Antivirus Plus is the cheapest plan that costs A$39.99 for the first year. It offers real-time protection for one computer and 2GB cloud backup.

Norton 360 Standard

This is the basic plan for the software and it’s priced at A$79.99 for the first year. It’s something you can use on a single device.

In the Norton 360 Standard plan, you’ll get real-time protection, 10GB of PC cloud backup, firewall, and a password manager. It also offers secure VPN, SafeCam for the PC, and Dark Web monitoring.

Norton 360 Deluxe

For almost the same price as the previous plan, Norton 360 Deluxe allows you to protect up to five devices. Thus, giving you more flexibility in the process.

Plus, you’ll also get 50GB of PC cloud backup. This means, you can protect five times as many files on the Norton Antivirus Plus. Additionally, you’ll get access to the parental controls of Norton which is practical and useful especially if you have children.

Norton 360 Deluxe is priced at A$89.99 for the first year.

Norton 360 Premium

Instead of getting Norton with LifeLock Select, you can opt for Norton 360 Premium. This costs A$99.99 for the first year

With this, you can readily protect up to 3 devices, so it’s a great deal if you have numerous devices. It’s also great if you want a single plan for your family.

Here, you’ll also receive a whopping 250GB in your PC cloud backup which is extremely generous in our opinion.

Now, let’s continue our Norton 360 review and look at the different features that Norton 360 has to offer.

Specifications

This part of our Norton 360 review discusses the different specifications of the Norton 360. To work, system requirements include PC or Mac for the Norton Device Security Entitlement only.

Remember that the Norton Device Security and Norton Secure Entitlement works with PCs, Macs, and mobile devices (iPhones and Androids).

Hands-on with the Norton 360

Of course, we checked how the software performed, and we’re sharing it with you in our Norton 360 review.

During our tests, its full scan and real-time protection were able to detect each malware file we attempted to download. It was great since there were no false positives and minimal system slowdowns.

We also tried downloading a database that had close to a thousand malware files. These included exploits, viruses, trojans, worms, backdoors, rootkits, keyloggers, zero-day attacks, spyware, PUPs, crypto hackers, and ransomware.

The software was able to catch 100% of the files on our disk with a full system scan. Basically, there are only a few competitors around that can work similarly when it comes to malware detection.

So after we tried the full scan, we switched on real-time protection and attempted to download the same malware database. We did this in the form of basic files, zipped files, as well as encrypted files.

Norton 360 was able to block all plain files before our computer even started downloading them. Then, it immediately blocked all the encrypted and zipped malware files the moment we tried unzipping and decrypting them.

The full disk scan took around 40 minutes to complete on the PC. This is definitely much faster compared to other similar products.

Norton 360 Review Summary

We enjoyed our experience with the software for our Norton 360 review. With that, we can say it’s one of our favourite antivirus solutions.

It has an excellent anti-malware engine, a wide array of internet security tools, and great customer support. Moreover, it also has a smart online dashboard for a much better price compared to most of its competitors.

Norton 360 isn’t only safe, but it also has a long history of excellent virus detection scores. Plus, it has less impact on computer speed compared to other antivirus programs.
