It’s a top-notch product packed with a ton of excellent features that you’ll surely take advantage of. Plus, it has remarkable specifications that make it a notable product to have.
But does it perform adequately? We’ll find out in this review. We’ll help you decide if the Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM should be part of your system.
And, we’ll also give you insights about its features, functions, design, and more. But before we look further into the product, let’s check out its packaging and contents.
Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM Packaging
What we have for our Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM review is the 32GB kit with 3600 MHz speed. It arrived in a simple cardboard box that has a cutout in front to let you see the product itself. You will find “Viper” above the cutout while its key features are written on the left.
The package’s rear is quite similar to that in front. Yet instead of its key features, other details about the DDR4 RAM are written. These include the product being an excellent performer with great thermal protection, reliably efficient, and more.
These details are written in nine different languages for everyone’s convenience.
Other than these, the rear portion also displays the product’s warranty coverage, company details, and compliances. Of course, there are details on how to connect with the company in case you have questions or concerns.
Of course, we also checked inside the package for our Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM review. And other than the Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM, we also found stickers from Patriot.
Their stickers look pretty good, so we decided to stick them on some of our items in the office. Other than these, you won’t find anything else in the package.
Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM Review – Design and Functionality
Patriot made use of black PCBs that also have black aluminium sides. Patriot opted to have everything in black including its detachable top portion as well. However, there are hints of grey along the area of the heat spreaders.
We like this little extra on the product since it brings out more of its premium and sleek appeal.
On the other side of the sticks, there’s a sticker that conceals “Viper” because of its placement. But despite this, it’s positioned correctly since you won’t see the branding once you set it in the system anyway.
To note, avoid removing this specific sticker since it contains essential details related to the product. Plus, doing so will void the warranty for the Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM. Just to give you an idea, the sticker displays the part number. Then, it’s followed by the beginning of the model number
Other than these, you’ll even find the density, speed, CAS latency, and voltage of the product.
We also inspected the top of each stick for our Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM review. From there, we saw that it sports two rows of 15 fins. These rows don’t extend all the way to the product’s ends.
Near the ends, the metal section is smoothened to provide an area for screwing the top to the heat spreaders. If you’re concerned about your build’s height, you can remove the fins easily to decrease the RAM’s overall height. You don’t need to worry about its aesthetics since you’ll still have the black theme going on despite removing it.
Don’t expect to find any bling on the Viper 4 Blackout DDR4 RAM. To begin with, it’s a black-clad product, hence its name. Despite this design aesthetic, the DDR4 RAM is still stylish and sleek because of the grey hints on its sides.
With a height of 41mm, this product from Patriot will perfectly fit any build and setup. Plus, it will work just as well despite any CPU air cooler restrictions which is something we greatly appreciate.
