The mouse arrived in a standard-looking Razer package that sports a black and green theme. The front displays an image of the mouse, its name, plus its main features.

Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed Review – Design and Functionality

While writing this Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed review, we saw Razer didn’t tinker with the ergonomics of this mouse. It sports almost the same form factor and shape of the other DeathAdder mice under the V2 lineup.

This actually makes sense from a cost and design standpoint for the company. Think about it, why change something that’s so loved by everyone, right?

Do note that this mouse has some differences compared to the V2 and V2 Pro. For the Hyperspeed, the two DPI switches were moved from the centre of the mouse. Now, these are on the edge of its left-click button.

At first, the change may seem a bit odd, but this was necessary for accommodating the mouse’s new functional aspect.

The entire top plate of the mouse is removable, and underneath it is the space that houses the Hyperspeed wireless dongle. This is also where you’ll find the replaceable AA/AAA batteries.

Speaking of batteries, the inclusion of replaceable ones is an interesting idea, and Razer was able to execute it perfectly. They claim that the mouse has an uptime of 234 hours (on AA) when used with the wireless dongle. Then on Bluetooth, it has up to 615 hours.

In terms of these, they’re your standard set of buttons. You’ll find right and left clicks, two side buttons, a middle clicker, plus two extra ones located on the edge.

You can interchange between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless using one switch. This can be found beneath the mouse.

There isn’t any USB port on the product since the DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed doesn’t have a built-in battery. Plus, it also doesn’t have RGB LEDs save for the little one beneath the scroll wheel.

Technically, a Razer product without RGB is kind of absurd, but its battery performance is ideally more vital.

Key Features of the Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed

Here’s a list of all the key features that make the DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed a good mid-range device.

Specialise and Personalise

For us, this is our most favourite feature listed in this Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed review.

You can customise your mouse any way you like: showcase your personality by displaying your passion. Select from a huge and continuously growing set of licensed designs. Or, you can flex your creative side by making a unique design from scratch.

Gen2 Mouse Switches Just for You

The switches are better and more resistant to degrading, and that’s all thanks to the gold-plated contact points. Not only are they more resistant, they’ve got a much longer lifespan of up to 60 million clicks.

100% PTFE Feet

The DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed smoothly glides across any surface you set it on. That’s because of its high-grade PTFE mouse feet. A truly great addition to have for the ultimate gaming mouse.

Iconic Comfort Made for You

With the iconic shape of the DeathAdder, countless pro gamers have acquired tons of wins. This is compared to when they use other gaming mice around.

Among these pros is Faker, the three-time world champion of League of Legends.

Decreased Latency + Top-Notch Performance

The mouse comes with the same high-speed Hyperspeed Wireless technology that’s used in other top-quality Razer gaming mice. This will allow you to unleash your full potential while enjoying extremely-low latency wireless connection.

Tried and Tested to Last

This is a wireless ergonomic mouse designed for the long game. That means, you can play for hours before its batteries need replacing.

AA or AAA? It’s All Good

The DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed can run on one AA or AAA battery. Why? Because its battery slot offers you the option of having a longer battery life or lighter weight.

What’s great is that it’s all at an optimal position for balanced and adequate weight distribution. Also, the AA battery is already included with the mouse, so out of the box, you can start gaming.

Get Full Control with an Edge

It doesn’t matter whether you’re mapping out the important stuff or going all-out with progressive macros. Get all the controls you need right at your fingertips with two distinct quick-access edge buttons, plus two side buttons.

Optical Sensor for the Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed

Take advantage of pixel-precise, responsive aim with enhanced sensors that perfectly track movement without spinouts.

For starters, the DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed is a dual-mode wireless mouse with an ergonomic right-handed design (2.4G & BLE). It comes with an optical sensor and a good battery life too.

It lasts up to 235 hours (2.4GHz), 615 hours (BLE) with the accompanying AAA battery. Do note that there’s an AA/AAA hybrid battery slot available, but you can only use one type at a time.

The DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed comes with an optical sensor and a maximum sensitivity of 14,000 DPI. The maximum speed is 300 IPS, total acceleration is 35G, plus there are a total of seven programmable buttons too.

It’s got mouse feet which is good, and these are an undyed 100% PTFE type. Plus, the DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed comes with a gaming-grade tactile scroll which gives off a great feel and touch. Lastly, it measures 127 x 61.7 x 42.7mm (L x W x H), and weighs 86 to 103g.

Hands-on with the Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed

Now, for the most vital part of our Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed review. We used the product for over a week, and we’re sharing our experience with you.

Our review will consist of how well, or not, the mouse performed, as well as how easy-to-use its software was.

The V2 X Hyperspeed is fully compatible with the company’s software suite, the Synapse 3. The software is built into the Razer Central, an overarching software.

From there, you can install extra modules like the Chroma Studio, Chroma Connect, or the Macro Editor. You can access all the settings via the four available tabs.

“Customise” is where you’ll find the button remapping option. It also includes the HyperShift function to allow another set of button maps that can be accessed by pressing a dedicated shift button.

“Performance” is where you adjust the CPI up to five levels. For “Calibration”, it allows you to balance and readjust the lift-off distance.

The fourth tab, “Power”, lets you set idle time in minutes after the V2 X Hyperspeed enters sleep mode. Additionally, there’s profile management available as well.

Generally, the V2 X Hyperspeed is the more competitively-priced DeathAdder model. Because of this, people might think it’s weaker compared to its DeathAdder siblings. But based on how it performed during our tests, it definitely proved otherwise.

The mouse felt responsive every time we used it: whether for gaming or doing regular daily stuff. Plus, it had accurate wireless tracking just like how it should, and we were pretty satisfied with it.

It was a tad bit on the heavier side. So, some of us had to use bigger movements which can be tricky if desk space is a bit limited. However, it isn’t a major issue especially for casual gamers.

It moved with 100% precision so we were able to play like normal after adjusting to its weight. Also, its mechanical switches were great and these offered outstanding tactile feedback during every in-game action or attack.

For battery life, it definitely improved and kudos to Razer for enhancing this. With its bundled AA battery, it was able to give us the said 235 hours using the Hyperspeed connection. With Bluetooth, we did get 615 hours as mentioned.

Razer DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed Review Summary

The Hyperspeed is an impressive mid-range wireless gaming mouse. It has a classic design, a fast and responsive sensor, and is comfortable to use. Plus, it has an excellent battery life that will last for long gaming sessions.

Although it lacks RGB lighting, the Hyperspeed is still an excellent mouse for gaming. With comfort and performance combined, this will definitely put you at an advantage.

Overall, the Hyperspeed is a superior gaming mouse and we highly recommend it. To get this product, you can purchase it from Razer’s official website.
