Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset Review

The Logitech G series has received a lot of praises from gamers because of their product’s design, comfortability, and compatibility. Here on our Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset review, we’re going to take a look at their new colourful gaming headset, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless.

Logitech finally decided to make a gaming product line that comes in many different colours. While mouse and keyboards are pretty common to have RGB features, the Logitech G733 Lightspeed caught our eyes. With these new colours and better features, can it keep up with other gaming peripherals competitors?

The Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset is part of Logitech’s colour collection that comes in four different colours; Black, White, Lilac, and Blue. The headset is overall made of plastic but looks sturdy.

Most Logitech headsets come in a bulky shape and more of a premium gamery-look to it. But with the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset, it looked more appealing, even to non-gamers.

Who is the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset for?

Most PC gamers will benefit from the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset because of its long battery life and software-configurable feature. It also has an excellent microphone for communication and recording, but we’ll get to that later.

Logitech’s G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset currently sits at a price tag of $299.95. Should you buy it? If you’re having trouble deciding, then keep reading through our Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset review. Let’s begin with the packaging.

Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset Packaging

The first part of our Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset review is all about the packaging. Let’s check the package’s overall design and see how the box protects the product inside.

The Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset’s box comes in a gamery design that most of their G series peripherals come with. It feels lightweight but doesn’t sound like some parts are separated from the product when shaken.

Logitech’s front side design of their boxes always indicates the product model sideways with a shiny blue font. You’ll also find the Logitech logo on the bottom-left corner, and the actual overview of the headset variation that you get in the middle.

In this case, we have the blue version, which is shown on the box. At the right side of the box, there’s also a side view of the headset, which also shows the RGB lighting.

The left side shows more technical specifications and information about the product. At the back, you’ll see all the key features and design advertisements of the headset.

Lastly, the top portion of the box includes a hanger and a seal to indicate if it’s been unboxed or not. The box’s design overall packs the product well. Now let’s unbox it and see what we get.

Inside the Box

Unboxing it is fairly easy. As you remove the top cover, you’ll see an instruction of how to utilise the headset. Instead of reading the whole user’s guide, they’ve included a simple instruction on the box, which is always a nice touch.

Removing the box cover, there’s another box that includes all the product accessories and the headset itself. This is common for premium products, making your unboxing experience memorable.

At the front side, you’ll see a small box on top with a “Keep Playing” sign, along with the wrapped headset. As we take off the small box and the headset, you’ll find a product purchase card and a user’s manual.

On the small box, flipping it reveals the Lightspeed Wireless USB dongle, detachable cardioid boom microphone, and a USB Type-C charging cable.

Overall, the unboxing experience was excellent. The headset, as well as the accessories, was wrapped & packed firmly.

Let’s now move to the design and functionality section of our Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset review.

Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset Review – Design and Functionality

The Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset is made mostly out of plastic. But upon holding it, it feels very durable for a lightweight headset.

There’s also a headband which is fully adjustable since you can remove and place it on a different holder. In addition, Logitech also sells headbands with different designs that can be sold separately.

The general look of the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset resembles the SteelSeries Arctis headphones, which also includes a headband and a mesh memory foam.

But the Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset looks cleaner and more vibrant when compared to SteelSeries’ Arctis series, even without using the RGB yet. This is best suited for game streamers since it looks refreshing.

On the left ear cup, you’ll find all the audio controls. There’s a mute switch for your microphone, volume wheel, and the power button.

There’s also a USB Type-C port for charging and a microphone jack, where the detachable microphone sits. It’s also a good thing that Logitech provided a USB Type-C port instead of the Micro USB port.

The Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset feels very comfortable, and it fits most of the head sizes because of its adjustability. The ear cups hinge are a little bit shaky. However, the headset overall is flexible, so you shouldn’t worry about it too much.

The hinge is also user-adjustable, giving you enough adjustability and finding the sweet spot that would best suit your head.

Inside the memory foam padding, you can see which ear cup goes to your ear. There’s a Left and Right marking inside, which is a good way of determining how the headset should orient in your head, especially if you’re a new user.

But the easiest way to determine the proper orientation of the headset is to look for the RGB lighting and microphone position. The front side shows the RGB lighting, and the microphone on most gaming headsets sits on the left ear cup.

Overall, the lightweight and flexible design should make this headset very comfortable. It doesn’t feel cheap, and the memory foam does a good job of avoiding ear pinching and overheating during long sessions.

With all that said, let’s now focus on the key features of this headset in our Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Headset review.

Logitech G HUB Software Usage

As you plug the wireless USB dongle and launch the Logitech G HUB Software, you’ll see all your Logitech devices, but in this case, the G733. Since the Logitech G733 is a wireless headset, there’s a battery indicator below.

On the headphone audio customisation page, you can adjust the volume levels, surround sound, and equaliser. On the microphone page, you can adjust the microphone gain level, enable BLUE VO!CE Technology, and record a sample mic test.

We then compared the microphone with and without the BLUE VO!CE. You should look forward to enabling BLUE VO!CE all the time, as it sounds better. It gives more bass and treble, and just overall makes it sound more appealing.

The microphone quality overall sounds average, and the BLUE VO!CE does a great job of making it better. As we enabled it, you can adjust the voice equaliser and access advanced controls, which includes High-Pass Filter, Noise Reduction, Expander/Gate, De-Esser, Compressor, and Limiter.

The next page is assignments, which allows you to assign keys for various commands. The final page is the Lightsync adjustment. You can easily customise the RGB lighting and select presets that you prefer. There’s also an audio visualiser effect that reacts on your audio.
