ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review – Design and Functionality

Let us first discuss its design in our ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review.

The Cetra True Wireless Speednova has two available colours: white and black. Both have a premium matte finish, yet remember that it attracts fingerprints, especially those with sweaty fingers.

Its RGBs are synced on the earbuds and within its charging case. The design shows a meticulous style with a curvy silhouette in matte plastic, giving a larger-than-average size.

Its earbuds can work with hybrid multi-point, and you can link two devices simultaneously. You can connect a 2.4GHz dongle and Bluetooth or two Bluetooth devices.

Charging Case

We also noticed its charging case while writing our ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review. It has a clamshell design, and its outer portion has a light indicator for its battery levels. Any level below 30% has red lights, while higher levels will be blue.

The USB-C port for charging it is on its rear, behind the hinge. Inside, you will find an RGB LED logo between the two magnetic charging points for the buds.

Key Features of the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova

To know more about these headphones, continue reading our review since we will discuss their features. These aspects make the Cetra True Wireless Speednova worth considering for gaming and listening needs.

100% Synced and Immersed

These gaming headphones give you unparalleled versatility and efficiency with these two notable elements:

These offer ultra-low latency gaming audio for your enjoyment.

The company also combined 24-bit 96kHz audio, adaptive ANC, and Dirac Opteo with auto mode. Doing so lets you immerse in high-resolution audio.

Additionally, the bone-conduction microphones guarantee top-notch voice quality. With hours of battery life, these gaming headphones keep your audio going all day. Since these can provide up to 46 hours of charge, the Cetra True Wireless Speednova keeps you listening all day.

Wireless Dual-mode Connection

Testing these headphones for our ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review gave us unlimited flexibility. We experienced it with 2.4GHz ultra-low latency and Bluetooth connections.

Premium Technology of ROG Speednova Wireless

This technology optimises the 2.4GHz band with the USB-C dongle, delivering audio performance with low latency plus top-notch connections. The product is also energy efficient since it can provide a maximum of 36 hours of charge for non-stop gaming.

Realistic Audio of the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova

The Cetra True Wireless Speednova uses the LC3+ codec, giving high-resolution 96kHz 24-bit audio. Dirac Opteo also provides rich details and precise audio staging for realistic listening.

Bone-conduction AI Microphone

Capturing clean and clear voices is a challenge for earbuds since these do not have a boom microphone. ASUS solved this issue by implementing bone-conduction sensors on the Cetra True Wireless Speednova. It picks up voices from bone vibrations in the skull of the user.

It works with AI noise-cancelling beamforming microphones to reduce background noise. It also maintains natural sound for crystal-clear communication.

Adaptive ANC

Adaptive ANC enhances noise cancellation to boost immersion. It detects the reflection of sound in the ear canal and how the user wears the earbuds. With this information, the earbuds adjust to optimise the sound and offer perfect listening experiences.

It also has integrated wind noise reduction to improve audio quality. This feature made our listening experiences enjoyable while testing the earbuds for this ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review.

ASUS Aura RGB

This feature allows you to customise lighting by selecting up to 16.8 million shades. Also, you can choose from four preset light effects.

Hybrid Multi-point

ASUS makes the Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova more convenient with simultaneous pairing. You can link two devices to avoid missing anything while gaming. Plus, it works with Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless via the bundled dongle.

IPX4 Water Resistance

These headphones sport a splash-proof water resistance feature for added protection and durability.

Play Music and Take Calls All Day

The charging case works wirelessly or connected via USB-C. A five-minute in-case charge provides one hour of use. When charged, you can enjoy up to 46 hours of listening time.

Intuitive Controls of the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova

You can use intuitive controls on these earbuds for convenient audio adjustments. This feature allows you to adjust elements without accessing connected devices or the Armoury Crate app.

Hands-on with the ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova

We had an enjoyable experience using the product while testing it for this ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova Review. Before we discuss how well it performed, we will focus on the Armoury Crate mobile app.

You can configure the settings of the ROG Cetra True Wireless Speednova when connected to your mobile app via Bluetooth. Tweaking happens in the Armoury Crate mobile app on Android and iOS.

This app allows you to adjust the audio and lighting or check the battery power of the case and earbuds. The lighting effects include colour cycle, breathing, strobing, or static. The colour cycle uses everything in the spectrum, but you can only select one colour for other effects.

We applied EQ settings and activated Dirac Opteo audio enhancements via the app. Additionally, we saved our preferred combinations into presets for easy access.

Without Dirac, the overall audio profile was less vibrant and transparent, with a bias towards the mid-bass frequencies. However, the soundstage remains wide, allowing heavy bass tones to sound less congested, giving other frequencies room to shine.

Enabling Dirac widens the soundstage, optimising the clarity and impact of percussions. Additionally, the lower bass gains more punch, while the midrange becomes less overpowering with more clarity.

These wireless gaming headphones boast impressive audio quality, enhancing music enjoyment and gaming experiences.

The ANC feature integrated into the Cetra True Wireless Speednova eliminates lower frequencies and dampens higher frequencies. When audio plays at moderate volumes, it guarantees suppression of ambient noises.

However, in louder environments, some noises may still be perceptible. The product boasts adaptive ANC capabilities, adapting its intensity to the surrounding environment.

You can deactivate the hybrid ANC via the app and select one of the three preset ANC levels. However, we did not have the opportunity to assess the performance of its auto ANC feature.

Using the Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova for our work setup involves connecting it to our computer for calls. With its efficiency, the other party can hear us distinctly, with a pleasant midrange tone.

Simultaneously, the earbuds remain connected to our work phone, allowing us to hear incoming ringtones. The earbuds seamlessly switch between devices based on detected audio activity, prioritising the 2.4GHz connection.

One of the features we appreciate is the ability to adjust the ANC and Ambient Sound levels during a call. It provides us with the necessary flexibility for different environments.

Using the 2.4 GHz connectivity is critical to achieve the possible minimal latency.

The low latency of the Cetra True Wireless Speednova works as advertised. We noticed no audio lag while engaging in intense gaming sessions on our PCs.

Moreover, the connection proves reliable, without disconnection during our extensive gaming sessions.
