We will also share the contents of the package in our ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review. Aside from the  Delta S Wireless, the box includes a user guide for your reference. There is also a ROG Hybrid ear cushion and a USB-C to USB 2.0 adapter.

ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review – Design and Functionality

We appreciate ASUS for removing the shiny and flashy cables and replacing them with matte black and silvery-white ones. The Delta S Wireless is an aesthetic-looking headset that shows off its gaming-peripheral vibe. It has a sophisticated look, and no one can miss its vibrant RGB lights.

While writing this ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review, we could not help but notice the D-shaped ear cups. These conform to the ears and conceal them nicely for a solid seal. Plus, its memory foam cushions stay gentle on the ears.

The solid headband of the product comes with memory foam since ASUS ensures 100% comfort despite hours of gaming. It has an adequate clamping force, so even users wearing eyeglasses will not feel any pressure or discomfort.

The headset has a swappable ear cushion, and you can get two sets in the box. These consist of pleather for increased noise seal and gentle fabric for better comfort.

Its cups join via the striking silver-white hangers of the headband that let the cups swivel 90° flat. Furthermore, the hangers slide in and out of the headband to allow convenient size adjustment. We appreciate ASUS for providing size marking and notched movements to make things more convenient.

Controls and Connection

We will also look at the headset controls in our ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review.

The Delta S Wireless has basic controls, which include a spring-loaded volume dial and a media button. You will also find a mode switch for toggling between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. Additionally, the headset features a USB-C port.

The right ear cup is free of clutter but has a slot for the L-shaped USB dongle. It is a feature we love since most wireless headsets do not have a place for keeping the dongle.

Connectivity

The Delta S Wireless connects via Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless to work with most devices and platforms. You can use it with a PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. This headset also works with Android phones with USB-C connectivity.

Key Features of the ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset

Dual Wireless and Full Immersion

The Delta S Wireless is the first ROG gaming headset that offers dual-mode wireless connectivity. It allows you to toggle between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connectivity. As a result, the headset is compatible with a wide range of platforms.

You can connect the headset via Bluetooth when utilising a PC, Mac, or Nintendo Switch. However, if you use a PS4 or PS5, opt for the 2.4GHz connection instead.

AI Beamforming Microphones feature AI Noise Cancellation. Because of this reason, it captures voice excellently and allows crystal-clear communication.

Excellent Connectivity

Aside from having dual-mode connectivity, the Delta S Wireless offers seamless signal transmission. It has built-in antennas that allow you to stay connected even with a distance of 25m. Its Bluetooth has a low-latency connection, delivering seamless audio.

Realistic In-game Audio with the ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset

The Delta S Wireless delivers realistic in-game audio, which is impressive. We noticed this during our product tests for our ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review.

The headset has 50mm ASUS Essence drivers in airtight chambers, offering a balanced sound signature. It also provides detailed audio with enhanced texture and depth. The tilted drivers on each side channel sound directly into the ear canal and improve user comfort.

With Hyper-Grounding technology, you can enjoy the pure sound with realistic detail.

Noise-cancelling AI Beamforming Microphones

The TeamSpeak and Discord-certified microphones form a focused acoustic zone to target your mouth and filter background noise. These ensure an exceptionally crystal-clear and neat captured voice.

All-day Battery Life and Fast Charging

A fully charged Delta S Wireless gives you up to 25 hours of battery life. If it runs out of power, a quick 15-minute charge provides three hours of use.

Designed for Comfort

The Delta S Wireless is only 318g and has D-shaped ear cups to match your ears. It reduces unnecessary contact areas to provide more comfort, making it ideal for long hours of use.

Intuitive Controls of the ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset

Controls and buttons are on the left ear cup for easy access. On the right ear cup is a safe storage slot for the 2.4GHz USB-C dongle.

Armoury Crate

Armoury Crate is the software suite where you can access extensive controls and customise the Delta S Wireless. You can access the audio profiles, settings for AI Noise Cancellation, and other configuration options to tailor your audio experience.

Specifications

One of the essential parts of our ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review is its specifications. These details will help determine if the headset is perfect for your needs.

The Delta S we are reviewing is the wireless version designed mainly for gaming. It has Bluetooth and a 2.4GHz wireless connection to support a couple of platforms. These include the MAC, PC, PS4, PS5, Android, Nintendo Switch, and Bluetooth devices.

The material ASUS used for its driver is a neodymium magnet and measures 50mm. The headset has an impedance of 32 Ohm and 20 – 20000 Hz.

Its bi-directional mic has a sensitivity of -37dB and a frequency response of 100 – 10000Hz.

Lastly, the product has a virtual 7.1 channel, 1800 mAh battery, and uses a 1m USB-C charging cable.

Hands-on with the ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset

Before we continue ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review to discuss its performance, let us check the Armoury Crate.

Armoury Crate is the software suite for ASUS products, including the Delta S Wireless. This headset works and offers good sound quality out of the box. But you can get more out of it if you configure its settings via Armoury Crate.

Armoury Crate has a simple interface, so do not worry about difficulties in using it.

The software suite allows you to set bitrate, enable or disable surround sound, and change the equaliser settings.

You can choose from various presets for the EQ since it covers different musical styles or set a custom pattern. It also offers optimised presets for different audio types: Gaming, FPS, RPG, Racing, Communication, Music, and Movie. The last option is MQA status, which informs you about the operation of the MQA renderer.

Moreover, Armoury Crate has numerous microphone enhancement options like Perfect Voice, Noise Gate, and AI Noise Cancellation.

The sound quality of any gaming headset is vital, and we received excellent sounds from the Delta S Wireless.

It has some loud 50mm drivers that surprised us. So if you are into headsets that block and blast out music, the Delta S Wireless is for you.

Keep in mind this headset does not provide high-resolution sounds like the wired version. However, you can acquire 16-bit/48kHz audio despite being wireless.

It may not sound as rich, but it offers a high sample rate and 40kHz (wireless) frequency response. When plugged in, it has a sample rate of 96kHz, so it is still a great-sounding headset with plenty of customisation options. You can manage these via the Armoury Crate.

The beamforming microphone sits inside the headset rather than the common retractable or detachable type. Although the AI noise-cancelling was not perfect, it captured our voices without problems. Despite some background noise in our recordings, our speech was clear and audible.

We were satisfied with the overall performance of the Delta S Wireless. It is one of the best options for a wireless gaming headset.

ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless Headset Review Summary

The Delta S Wireless is another impressive ROG headset that provides excellent audio and comfort, making it gamer-friendly. Its sound quality may not be audiophile-grade, but it is ideal for gaming. The beamforming microphones offer superior clarity in voice chats, which is essential when gaming.

We loved the comfort of this headset since it did not feel uncomfortable even after long hours of use. Plus, its 25-hour battery life allowed us to play without worrying about recharging and interrupting our gaming sessions.

Although it does not have high-end features, we love this wireless version of the Delta S. It is a solid headset that is perfect for gaming, and we highly recommend it.
