Let us look into one of the offerings from ASUS in our ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Review. The TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI integrates all essential elements from the current AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors. ASUS combined these with excellent durability plus game-ready features.
The motherboard has military-grade components, an optimised power solution, and a comprehensive cooling system. It goes beyond every expectation with solid and stable performance for non-stop gaming.
But is it as good as claims, and is it worth the upgrade? Read our ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Review to know everything you need about the product.
ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Packaging
We were excited to receive our motherboard in the mail and immediately unboxed it for our review. It arrived in a standard-looking motherboard box with the company branding, product name & image in front.
This area also displays some product features to give you an idea of what the motherboard offers.
Inside, you will find two SATA 6Gb/s cables, an ASUS WiFi moving antenna, and two M.2 rubber packages. There are also two M.2 SSD screw packages, a TUF certification card, and a user guide.
ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Review – Design and Functionality
Generally, TUF products are slightly more industrial. And in our ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Review, you will see why the X670E-PLUS WIFI is no exception.
It is an aesthetic-looking motherboard sporting an all-black PCB. The product is also slightly low-profile, and only a few elements stand out from the board. These include the M.2 heatsink plates, integrated I/O shield, and VRM heatsink.
The rest of the board is subtle and works efficiently in various PC build styles.
The TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI is easy to build because of more PCBs exposed to elements. Why? Because there are not as many cover shrouds around to access specific areas of the product. Plus, it has two 8-pin connectors at the top-left corner to supply power for its CPU.
Below are CPU sockets, fan headers to the right, and four DIMM slots. The fan headers are necessary for hooking up your preferred CPU cooler.
Since this is a more affordable board, you will find fewer AIO and fan headers than the pricier ROG boards. The same goes for features like the OLED status indicator, which is specific for troubleshooting.
There are four M.2 and three expansion slots to install numerous components on the motherboard. One of the M.2 slots does not feature a heatsink bracket yet is limited to PCIe 4.0 speeds. It only means the heat will not be an issue.
Its four SATA ports are divided with two on the standard right area, while the rest are at the bottom. Specifically, the latter is among the USB headers.
The X670E chipset is notable since this is the first time AMD designated a chipset specifically for overclocking. We are not saying that non-E motherboards on the standard X670 chipset are incapable of overclocking. However, these are not as powerful or well-optimised as the E-version boards.
Generally, the X670E chipset offers the best for high-end builders. So it makes the low-cost approach of ASUS particularly interesting.
We can use a GPU and M.2 SSD at PCIe 5.0 speeds since it uses the X670E chipset.
This motherboard has two full x16 slots, an x4 slot, and four M.2 SSD slots. For the latter, only one is a PCIe 5.0. It has a lot of internal expansion for quick PC builds, especially for gaming.
The X670E board has full support for AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors. It also works efficiently with DDR5 RAM of up to 128GB and supports speeds of 6400MT/s. Also, its 16-phase power delivery design guarantees stable and reliable power sent across the motherboard.
The X670E chipset is ideal for overclocking the Ryzen 7000 CPUs. And overclockers can push the CPU past the respective boost clocks.
Generally, the VRM of this board is slightly weaker, but slight overclocking is possible. Also, it has a 14+2 digital power phase format, lots of VRM cooling, and a massive heatsink for optimised heat dissipation.
We also looked into the rear IO for this ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI Review. It features 10 USB ports. Two are USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 types, and the rest are USB 3.2 Gen 2s. The two ports are type-Cs.
The other three are type-A USB 3.2 Gen 2, while the other five are type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
You will also find the WIFI antenna headers on the rear IO, plus the Realtek 2.5Gbe LAN port. There is even a Realtek S1220A 5-plug audio stack + SPDIF.
When you use an AMD Ryzen 7000 and require video outputs, the present HDMI and DisplayPorts cover that.
Networking is also ideal with WIFI 6E modules. And the 2.5 Gigabit LAN is great for anyone who needs a stable internet connection.

Thanks to its features, the TUF Gaming series motherboards make setting up and building the PC easier. TUF Gaming Alliance eco-system offers compatibility, while Armoury Crate has various intuitive tools and settings for optimising your system.
ASUS collaborated with trusted PC component brands for the TUF Gaming Alliance. It ensures compatibility across multiple computer parts like PSUs, PC cases, CPU coolers, memory kits, etc. With the increasing partnerships and compatible components, TUF Gaming Alliance continues to grow its eco-system.
SafeSlot Core+ & SafeDIMM
ASUS used the SMT manufacturing process for the faster SafeSlot Core+ to guarantee the highest data speeds. The SafeSlot core+ is a metal sheath added to a PCIe slot to keep cards securely installed.
The TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI also uses the SafeDIMM, which protects and supports memory modules. As a result, you can insert your modules with accuracy, confidence, and speed.
ESD Guards of the ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WIFI
ESD Guards prevent damage from electrostatic discharge to prolong the lifespan of components. These protect parts from up to +/- 6 kV of contact discharge and +/- 10 kV of air discharge, surpassing industry standards.
Your PC stays protected from voltage spikes with surface-mounted TVS diodes in a dual in-line package.
TUF LANGuard
TUF LANGuard is a military-grade innovation with premium surface-mounted capacitors and advanced signal-coupling technology. This feature improves throughput, protecting the motherboard from static electricity and lightning strikes.
