Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review – Design and Functionality

After unboxing to try and test it for our Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review, we noticed a well-defined gap in front. It is between the primary button above and the lower part of the frame beneath.

At the centre are buttons labelled G5 and G4, a typical aspect for right-handed mice. There are slits on the plastic where your thumb grips the G903. Additionally, several angles along the base offer an original aesthetic pleasing to the eyes.

Its slits continue along the heel of this mouse and are wide-spaced on this section than on the side. The part where the G903 starts to flatten off the sloped top profile houses one of the Lightsync zones. It is beneath the Logitech (G) logo.

Since this is an ambidextrous mouse, its right and left sides look and feel the same. Even if the mouse ships for right-handed users, you can remove the centre panel and use the included buttons here.

Finish, Buttons, Feet, etc.

While writing this Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review, we saw that most of its body has a smooth, matte finish. This design goes well with the shiny plastic, separating the pair of buttons on the mouse.

Beneath the button is a massive voice for a more aggressive aesthetic. On its edge, you will find the connecting point for its cable. Its surrounding area moulds in place to receive support for the provided cable.

The centre supports the free-wheel button, a scroll wheel, and DPI selector buttons. It also comes with three LEDs displaying its battery levels when used wirelessly.

The G903 has six PTFE feet:

  • One in front
  • Two on each side
  • Two on either side of its eye
  • One beneath the heel

Underneath the pairing button is a power switch near the front of the product. Close to its heel is a circular cover. You can remove it by pressing the indented circle under the Logitech G logo.

Removing the cover allows you to place the 10g metal weight in its space.

Key Features of the Logitech G903 Lightspeed

Optimised with the HERO 25K Sensor

We enjoyed the Lightspeed wireless gaming experience when testing the G903 for this Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review. The advanced sensor offers outstanding performance and top-class efficiency.

To get simultaneous wireless charging and the ultimate Lightspeed loadout, add PowerPlay to the mix.

The core of the HERO

Enjoy its performance and precision with 25,600 maximum DPI thanks to the advanced HERO 25K Sensor. Other than that, take advantage of 1:1 tracking, zero filtering, acceleration, and smoothing.

The sensor also provides 10x the power efficiency of the earlier sensor, giving you enhanced battery life and less weight.

Wireless Lightspeed

This technology gives you a pro-grade 1ms report rate without compromising battery life or weight. Lightspeed is the choice of most top e-sports pros thanks to its competition-grade, reliable, and responsive connectivity.

140 Hours – 1 Charge

You only need a single charge to get 140 hours of gameplay because of the super-efficient HERO 25K. It can deliver outstanding battery life that can last for hours with the RGBs in full effect. Without lighting, you can enjoy up to 180 hours of gaming.

The POWERPLAY Wireless Charge

We experienced endless gameplay when we tested the mouse for our Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review. Although sold separately, the POWERPLAY wireless system keeps all G-mice charged at rest and play.

Just link the included POWERCORE to replace the 10g weight and cover (optional), and never bother with battery life again.

Lightsync RGB

Full spectrum and game-driven RGBs respond to in-game audio, action, and screen colour, which you can synchronise across G products. You can also customise it with various lighting animations and effects with 16.8 million colours via Logitech G Hub.

Mechanical Button Technology

The mechanical button technology keeps the primary left and right buttons balanced to trigger with less force. The G903 Lightspeed delivers excellent responsiveness, speed, and button consistency on each click.

Ambidextrous Design and up to 11 Buttons

The configurable button layout allows left and right-handed use. Its removable side buttons and dual-mode hyper-fast tilt wheel provides access to up to 11 programmable functions. You can also customise these buttons via Logitech G Hub and place power at your fingertips.

Hands-on with the Logitech G903 Lightspeed

We tested this product for our Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review and used it for two weeks. Observing the mouse, we saw how it performed under loads while gaming and doing regular tasks.

Logitech G Hub

Logitech G Hub is the software for configuring the settings of all Logitech G products. After launching, the first window shows its battery life on the left. On the right, you can use profiles in the onboard storage or those for games on your PC.

At the bottom, you will find various icons labelling the menu tabs. The second menu is the mouse button next to the home icon.

It shows the enabled mouse buttons and the five profiles you can customise. The rest of the menu works for options like pointer settings, report rate, and DPI.

On the third menu are the lighting options. Like the mouse settings, it is profile-dependent.

You can switch off the log LED activated by default or enable DPI LEDs instead. This menu lets you choose the RGB colour, adjust its saturation and brightness, and select lighting effects.

The following tab is the battery menu, where you can change the settings to adjust the power consumption values.

The next tab is for surface tuning. You will need to tune these settings to enjoy the best performance of the G903 on any surface. Next to this menu is the input analysis for selecting the key-press heat and key duration heat map.

The last section is the gear icon that opens a sub-menu when clicked. It shows various tabs for tweaking the options mentioned above. You can also find Arx control, which allows using your phone with G Hub for on-the-fly monitoring and control.

Performance of the Logitech G903 Lightspeed in Gaming

The G903 performed well when we tested it for gaming. It worked perfectly for fast-paced FPS titles since it tracked movements well and was highly responsive. We had no issues with wired and wireless connectivity since it had no latency.

We set five profiles for different games, and everything worked well for each title. It was responsive to all button arrangements and movements, making our gaming experience more enjoyable.

Movement was smooth on all surfaces we tested without adjusting the surface tuning. Surprisingly, its accuracy improved when we customised the settings via G Hub.

The G903 is an excellent mouse for gaming, especially FPS. It has low click latency and is highly responsive. Plus, the ergonomics offer a comfortable hold on the mouse, making it suitable for any hand size.

Office and Productivity

The mouse also worked well for office and productivity uses. When using this mouse with a 4K monitor, its movement was smooth when we used a higher DPI range. Clicking on folders and links on browsers was seamless without overshooting or jittering.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review Summary

As expected of Logitech mice, the G903 is a high-quality mouse that performs excellently. Its wireless connectivity is as seamless as its performance when connected via cable. Also, it is ergonomic and lightweight, making it comfortable to use during hours of gaming sessions.

We love its highly customisable nature since it allows adding buttons, increasing its weight, and personalising the RGB lighting. The Logitech G Hub also made customisation easier when we tested the product for this Logitech G903 Lightspeed Review. The software had a user-friendly interface with straightforward menus.

We highly recommend this product if you want an ambidextrous gaming mouse with many customisation options. Visit the official product page of Logitech for more details about the G903 Lightspeed.
