Pulsar Xlite V3 Review – Design and Functionality

The Pulsar Xlite V3 represents a refined iteration of its predecessor, the Pulsar Xlite V2. While maintaining the familiar shape of its sibling, the V3 distinguishes itself with a lighter build. It also sports a revamped body design featuring a solid shell construction.

Notably, the V3 has an upgraded sensor and compatibility with a maximum polling rate of 4000Hz. As we stated, you can achieve this using a dedicated 4K dongle from Pulsar. However, remember that this dongle does not come in the package.

Earlier in this Pulsar Xlite V3 Review, we said the mouse has a newly designed form. Its body is solid plastic instead of having cutouts like those on the earlier Xlite V2.

Its new design also has separate left and right-click buttons compared to the earlier design, which integrates these into the body.

Below the left-click button, a small Pulsar logo is elegantly printed. Unlike conventional mice with solid baseplates, this model adopts a lightweight design crafted from multiple plastic struts. This design offers a glimpse inside the Xlite V3.

In front of the forward side button is an RGB LED customisable to display your preferred colour. It also indicates your CPI setting and battery status. With its understated and minimalist aesthetic, this mouse fits any setup without looking out of place.

Its feet glide seamlessly across surfaces like desks and mousepads. The feet have sharp edges and some scratchiness when set on your desk. However, it does not affect usage or its gliding performance.

Build Quality, Weight, and Charging Cable

The Xlite V3 has a high-quality build with a rigid outer shell. It does not flex or creak when applying intentional force. Also, the mouse has no loose parts rattling when shaking the mouse.

Although the Xlite V3 has a durable and solid outer shell, its body is lightweight. It is also lighter than its predecessor, the Xlite V2.

The Paracord charging cable is lightweight and flexible, allowing the mouse to glide with minimal drag.

Key Features of the Pulsar Xlite V3

The Xlite line of Pulsar consists of top-quality lightweight mice. But what upgraded features make it a better mouse? We will discuss its primary features in this Pulsar Xlite V3 Review to identify the improvements made to this product.

Excellent Ergonomics for All Hand Sizes and Superior Comfort

The Xlite V3 is an ergonomic gaming mouse for right-hand palm grip. Its design ensures superior comfort during long gaming sessions. Plus, it allows you to unleash your best performance, making it the best choice for competitive gamers.

What makes the Xlite V3 unique is Pulsar offers the mouse in three different sizes to cater to any user. This mouse lets you enjoy comfort, precision, and top-notch performance that meets your gaming needs.

Split Click Shell

This mouse features the split click mechanism that separates the left and right buttons for independent actuation. It minimises the click latency for improved performance.

Indirect Wheel Clicks

The Xlite V3 integrates high-quality precision ball bearings to minimise rattle and offer smoother rotations.

Solid Shell of the Pulsar Xlite V3

Pulsar reinvented the Xlite V3 by increasing the rigidity of its shell by removing the perforations. It also maintains the lightweight design of its predecessors. As a result, it perfectly balances support and reduces weight for excellent gaming precision.

Low-Power and Lag-Free 2.4Ghz Wireless & Wired Technology

The Xlite V3 works with wired and wireless connectivity without lag. It uses the latest MCU and algorithm to provide consistent wire-free connectivity and a stable 1ms report rate. Plus, Pulsar equipped the mouse with the flagship Pixart low-power sensor, allowing its battery life to last 100 hours.

Thanks to these features, the mouse operated when we tested it for this Pulsar Xlite V3 Review.

Pulsar Blue Encoder

The Pulsar Blue Encoder is a new development from the collaboration between Pulsar and its trusted encoder manufacturing partner. It provides users with superior tactile rotation while maintaining smooth and quiet operation. It minimises potential faults caused by microdust particles and guarantees higher reliability.

Optical Switch for Enhanced Responsiveness

Unlike mechanical switches, optical switches do not have physical contacts prone to bouncing and wear. As a result, these prevent double-clicking issues.

Optical switches also use light-based detection mechanisms to prevent unintended double clicks and offer quick, precise responses. These are also pre-sorted with three stages, allowing you to use light-click switches.

Efficient Sensor and Upgraded Chip Processor

The Xlite V3 uses the PAW3995, the latest flagship sensor from Pixart. It offers up to 26000 dpi, 50G acceleration, and 650 IPS for more enjoyable gaming experiences. Pulsar upgraded the primary chip processor to the industry-leading Nordic MCU for unparalleled power efficiency and fast processing.

These upgrades allowed us to perform better in our games when we conducted tests for this Pulsar Xlite V3 Review. We enjoyed the improved precision and accuracy, especially when playing FPS.

PixArt Motion Sync Technology

Motion Sync offers more precision tracking and 99.6% resolution accuracy. It is a built-in technology into the sensor that intelligently synchronises signals at exact intervals when your PC extracts information. As a result, it makes tracking more accurate.

You can switch Motion Sync on or off via the Pulsar Fusion software.

Fully Customisable Settings of the Pulsar Xlite V3

Adjust everything with precision via Pulsar Fusion software. You can re-assign keys, set macros, and adjust the debounce time of the Xlite V3.

4K Polling Ready

The 4K wireless dongle offers enhanced cursor movement for smoother performance. It is ideal for high refresh rate monitors and a higher polling rate for a more current data flow. As a result, it matches the faster frequency of the display.

This wireless dongle delivers four times more data reports per second. It also reduces delays between the latest report and the frame rendering of your monitor for a seamless experience.

Performance of the Pulsar Xlite V3

Using the Xlite V3 was a delightful experience since it performed well during our tests. It tracked our movements accurately, allowing us to execute controls and commands with precise timing. We tested this mouse for our Pulsar Xlite V3 Review using its native polling rate (1000Hz) and 0ms debounce settings.

This mouse was a total performer when playing FPS titles. Since it was lightweight, moving it around quickly and accurately was a breeze. Also, its low click and sensor latency made it more responsive, allowing us to aim at opponents without difficulty.

Aside from FPS, the Xlite V3 worked well for MMO games despite not being designed for the genre. It lacks side buttons compared to MMO-dedicated mice, but its programmable buttons work perfectly for numerous titles.

The mouse had excellent sensor latency and reacted when we moved it. Also, the on-screen cursor movement matched the speed of our movements. It was highly responsive and suitable for casual and competitive gaming.

We loved the ergonomic shape and design of this mouse. Using it during gaming marathons was enjoyable since we did not experience any discomfort.

Aside from performance and comfort, we appreciate the silent clicks and smooth, defined steps from its scroll wheel. Clicking on the scroll wheel also delivered excellent tactile feedback.
